Looking for someone in or around Grand Junction to give a no BS weather report for the Vega State Park/ Grand Mesa area. I am headed out there on Friday to get a cow with my son and would like a real time report.

Thanks for the info guys. I was prepared for any season of the year and several in one day. All the advice from this site and others lead to my first elk!

My husband should be back from hunting by Thursday and probably can. I know he is currently on Taylor Mesa but he just spent a bunch of time on the Grand Mesa (it's in the Grand Mesa Moose thread).

Sunny and highs in the 70s supposedly. You don't understand how hard it is to really predict the weather out here

What is the saying I keep hearing around here? Don't like the weather then wait 5 minutes?

Yup. Shit today alone we had rain, hail, wind, and then perfect weather all in about 30 minutes

Expect everything, you'll be ready for anything.   I was up on top of the Mesa last weekend, 1-6" of snow in all the N facing and shady spots.  I'll be back up elk chasing 2d season.  I expect more snow with a generous serving of mud.
Night temps have been 25-40, days have not been over 65.
