Great turnout at our meet & greet yesterday - despite being rained (and lightninged) out earlier than expected. Our thanks to everyone who showed up to network and show support for Coloradans' second amendment rights.
We had citizens who had heard of us from various pro-gun websites and a few visitors to the park who simply stopped by out of curiosity - then stayed awhile because they connected with our message. We also had awesome representation from the Castle Rock town council and the Douglas County GOP, and spent time with the upstanding folks from Vote "NO" on Hickenlooper in 2014, DCFGuns - Douglas County Firearms and Carry On Colorado. We look forward to doing what we can to help them educate voters about the upcoming August 19th special election in Castle Rock (stay tuned for much more on that) and the 2014 races in Colorado that will affect their second amendment rights.
And, illustrating that principles of liberty can - and should - supercede political parties, we were joined by both the current Republican representative for District 44, Chris Holbert, and the Libertarian candidate for that seat, Lily Williams, as well as George Leing (Republican candidate for US House District 2) and Jess Loban (Libertarian candidate for US House District 4). No posturing, no campaigning, no games, just fellow Colorado citizens standing together in support of our liberty.
We'd also like to extend a very special thanks to Jim and Kim from Project Appleseed. While they were used to far larger venues , they stuck it out with us and provided a great opportunity for visitors to understand the importance of our heritage as "American riflemen." They also provided
another type of opportunity - about another dozen C2AA members will have the chance to attend Appleseed's August 16-17th Byers class for free! We'll mention that again in the coming days but reply to this post and/or email us at
[email protected] for details in the meantime.
Again, our thanks to everyone who turned out, our apologies to anyone we forgot and we hope to see you all again soon."
