Alright guys we're here. been here for a while. we're at 6th alley right now. we're eating, then we'll probably hit the slopes again.
let's meet up at 1pm at the cafeteria? there's 4 of us. I have on a plaid shirt and a big beard |

It was a great day.
Good to see old friends, make some new ones, and be out on the mountain. denverdan and spyderboy03 did some more training with me (much appreciated gents!) and got me off the bunny hill. I stumbled down my first green run ever, but by god, I made it. 
Let's do it again soon! And the obligatory pic:

Hey Everyone,
It was great to meet some good people from the site at The basin having a good time. I'm glad everyone showed up and enjoyed themselves - I know that I certainly did. I'm always available for a ski day at The Basin - especially with a little notice. There's the occasional talk around here of getting over to Winter Park / Mary Jane for a trip - I could be down for that with enough time to plan. The season is running short for everyplace else besides The Basin at this point. Again, Thanks for all your generosity and good company and I hope to see all of you again sometime soon. Cheers! -JC |

That 4/20 date is pretty typical for the big resorts. Usually sometime around tax-time is normal. It's usually due to USDA Forest Service contracts.

Anytime any of you come to the Basin make it a point to find me for the good price on a ticket
 , just a reminder.
Also: I'll be skiing in The Enduro Wed 04/16/2014 A-Basin Enduro 10 hours of skiing the Basin's toughest terrain. It's a fundraiser for one of our instructors injured in a bike accident. I'm not competing to win, I'm just hoping to survive it it in decent condition. The last and only time I skied an Enduro was 1998 ! The more folks cheering us on the better! So come on up and show support and see some talented skiers and riders going the distance. Thanks. Cheers! -JC |

No, it's not on the East Wall.
It covers the terrain off of the Pallavicini Chair. There are 20 runs on the racer's map and we repeat the map in order for as long and as many runs as possible. The chair and terrain is open to the public, but racers have a separate lane to the chair. It's gonna be tough, but fun. And it's for a good cause. Cheers! -JC |

We managed to ski 59 runs over the 10 hours of the Enduro. Not too bad for a couple of old guys!
I'm a bit worked over, but we finished safely and are happy with our results. That's about it mostly for lift riding for me now though. The rest of my ski season will be mostly spent hiking for my turns. It's going to be a great high alpine corn season. Ski the 14ers 2014! Thought I'd post an update. Thanks ! Cheers! -JC |
