Hey guys, flatlander here looking to hook up with my buds in Seattle and then heading to the Cascades for a week of hiking and fishing. Looks like y'all have some fire/smoke issues and air quality isn't so good. We're planning on being there from the 31st through the 9th. One of our guys suggested looking west to Olympic instead.

Anyone have local insight/suggestions?

Thanks.

Rains and onshore winds are cleaning out the air last night and this morning. You should be fine. Year before last, we camped west of Naches along the American River during the height of the fires and the air wasn't that bad.
We're headed out for a week of boon docking again on the 21st along the northern edge of the William O Douglas wilderness. I am not concerned in slightest about air quality.

Well, had a pretty good time in WA. First few days were clear but smoke from WA, OR, and ID rolled in and obscured our views the rest of the week. Regardless, enjoyed some gorgeous scenery. We hiked, paddled and fished our asses off. Hopefully I'll get back some day for some more fun.
