Heard the 15 cents on the news last night. Mar 14Public hearing in the House Committee on Environment at 1:30 PM. No notes or updates. Who the fuck do these people think they are?

A hell of a lot worse than that!
CARBON POLLUTION MITIGATION TAX IMPOSED. (1) A carbon pollution mitigation tax is levied and collected on the carbon content of fossil fuels and electricity, including imported electricity, sold or used within this state. (2) Beginning July 1, 2018, the tax rate is equal to fifteen dollars per metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent. Beginning July 1, 2019, the rate of the tax increases by seven percent plus inflation each July 1st until July 1, 2047, except as provided otherwise in section 212 of this act. Do you want cheap electricity? Because this is how you do not get cheap electricity. |

I really hope this does not get passed. We have cheap electricity, and we already have the second highest taxed gas in the nation, guess they are shooting for #1. |

Californians coming here is not what led us down this path. The fact that the elected leaders choose to follow the California model is the problem. Washington leaders have a case of the younger sibling syndrome, they see what the big brother (CA) is doing and they are trying to one up it.
