Plan ahead for another fun filled weekend

So does the April shoot tend to have/attract more people than the January shoot?
I've only been once (last January) and the weather corrupted my expectations (weather that weekend was beautiful for Jan.), so what is the weather typically like for the April shoot? (I now have princess-like expectations) WOO HOO! |

And that's all on the same day. View Quote How about the day after? Weather any better then? For now I can tentatively plan on camping, but I suppose as time gets nearer, I'll decide if I will be camping or just visiting on Saturday (I'll probably have the kiddos with me so that kinda stuff weighs differently in the decision process) |

I was there in April 08'. And it was great! Many fun memories shooting and trying to make it up the snowy hill in our cars.
Will try to make it this time as well |

Man!
This weekend's weather (4/1-4/2) makes me think of LCR in the same great weather.... Gets me all warm and fuzzy on the inside and anxious to unpack the trailer to go camping (at LCR). Of course, warm, fuzzy anxious feelings could also be by product of shooting well at this weekend's USPSA match (and wanting more of it). Also have some new steel teardrop targets I look at everyday that I anxiously want to shoot.... so that's buggin me too. Hope the weather is nice for LCR. |

Keep saying I'll show up... Keep having stuff (Guard, Baby, etc) get in the way...
Definitely can't camp out overnight... |

Out ADW. I was there last Sept. With a very bad knee that is is just now getting manageable. I assume it was it was a local hunter that stole a Garman Montana 650 Gps out of my truck. It was loaded with all street maps and all off road worth over 600. I didn't know it was gone until I got home. My truck was closest to the road, I thought it was locked.

By the looks of the replys it seems this lcr is DOA? View Quote I don't think it's DOA, just a lot more subdued..... but then again I'm still new to it. Right now I'm planning on going, I'm just still waffling on whether I'll camp or just day-trip it out on Saturday. FYI, if last time you went was 15 yrs ago, I believe the pit they're using these days is just a bit further up the road from the original pit since some contractor is using it now for construction staging/laydown. Hope that helps...FWIW |

Yeah I remember the great Exodus from the forum. Didn't know it affected the LCR turnout too.
The last time I went was before the SgtMgr died. He was there. I dont remember his name but he was a cool old dude. I may go. It all depends if I have to work or not. |

Is there enough of an open distance (200+ yards) to bring out .50bmg rifles for various shenanigans, or is it a shorter range area? The photos I've seen from past events looks like backstop wouldn't be a problem.

Friggin' weather!
I showed up w/ the kids on Saturday. Couldn't do a whole lot; the rain necessitated a canopy, but the wind precluded using it. I got to shoot at my new (AR500) steel targets, but the crappy cheap sheperds' hooks I got to hang them from didn't fair so well. I shot one completely in two with my pistol..... betcha if I trying to shoot it though, I'd go through an entire box or something . So it looked like Redtazdog was there....is that correct? (we talked about concrete together...before my son tripped) And then was it Redcat who was there with his entourage?... they let my kids shoot a slingshot a bit....kids shot the slingshot more than the .22 Just trying to make sure I got faces and (screen)names straight. Perhaps next LCR won't be so dang windy; talking to Redtazdog, the wind was what precluded using the original larger gravel pit....looks like it was open for use, but they've gone and re-graveled the roads around it so I don't know if they have plans or were just trying to dispose of some spoils. I did pull in there first when I saw all the building/construction materials gone. Looking forward to the next one!...seriously, it was the weather the drove us away this weekend; so nasty outside, the kids chose to skip their beloved bratwursts so we could start homeward |

Sounds like the weather made things shitty.
I'll try to make the next one. May have my RTT by then |
