I'm putting up the poll for April LCR - "HugeGator Memorial Shoot".

Go ahead and vote for your favorite weekend in the thread.  I'm not doing a voting poll since I need to tally scores from two sites.

Weekends in April:

April 1,2,3
April 8,9,10
April 15,16,17
April 22,23,24
April 29,30,1

I'm also going to be putting this up at the other site, and I'll manually tally the votes.

$20s count as additional votes for a particular weekend.

Get your votes in by 2/27

Bobbity is in charge of initiations.

Have you ever seen a grown man naked?

I can come by for one day, some nice toys were there last year.

maybe my 300BLK won't get a bullet stuck in the barrel this time. Luckily Dawgfish figured it out and saved me and my gun.

That, frankly, ( and don't call me Frank ) scares the shit out of me!

20+ years around you guys, hit and miss, makes me extremely dubious about showing up for 'the first time'...

Someday, I hope to attend one of these frightful experiences.

When you consider that Boomer was my very first contact on ARFCOM, ( before it was known as 'ARFCOM' ), and Paul was the first face I saw at McChevron on the way to GF...well, you can imagine how things have 'evolved'.

Oh, I SO  wanna go to one of these.
I'd bet real money it's a lot of fun!

The 22nd 23rd and 24th is good as some are still doing that last minute tax thing the first couple weeks.

Can't do 1/2/3 (Drill)  or 8/9/10. Any other weekend will work though.

22,23,24 is preferred.

Generally someone can meet up with you and guide you to the location if they don't find you too creepy.  Usually there is a guide Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, but who knows anymore.

It's normally at the porno park and ride in Chehalis.

Directions and or a map are pretty useless,
You will need to link up and follow someone

You really need to free up whatever weekend it is and go, it's one of the more fun arfcom htf events

I went as far as taking leave/pass so I could go adw

And have fun being "initiated" by bobbity

If I go it'll have to be on a Sunday, my boy has school during the week and I have my Capstone class on saturday this quarter.

Showing up for Sunday alone wouldn't be worth it.  You probably won't find a guide in on Sunday morning.

A few are nursing hangovers, and almost everyone is packing Sunday morning.  Most have un-assed the AO by 1000.

On occasions of nice weather a few stragglers will hang around and shoot or shoot the shit.

I plan to attend.  Hopefully the old Explorer won't piss tranny fluid all up the logging road.  I still owe a funnel and replacement fluid to some guys.

There is an LCR every January, April, June, and September.

Or least used to be one.

If you went more often you would know and we have been using the upper pit as the shooting is good for short and long range.

I will still be on leave through that weekend. Should be back in town on Wed or Thursday. Would love to come out and join you guys. Saturday morning, I'm scheduled for a volunteer shift up at the humane society, but I could make it for Friday.

I'm planning to come up on Friday.  Who else is going then to convoy?  Bobbity?  It would't be an LCR for me without staring at your back end all the way from Dupont.

I went up for the day yesterday in caravan with Bobbity and Mitch (don't recall a screen name).  Stayed just for the day and did a bunch of shooting.  It rained on and off on us.  There were at most about 12-15 people on the firing line and usually many fewer.

Shot a little bit with my Rock River R3 upper and then switched to a PSA 7.62x39 upper.  That thing really shoots!  With the Vortex Sparc it was really point and shoot.  My new L1A1 performed well in its first outing.  The Sten 9mm carbine I built did a bit better this outing and I have some good ideas now what needs to be adjusted to make it not jam on feeding.  I was only loading 5 at a time to leave spring tension out of the picture and I got through 5 rounds once without error!  Same with my built Bulgie AK-74...I think an adjustment to the mag seating depth at the rear will solve it's bolt-over-base issues.  The Mossberg 930 ran through a box and a half of "promo" birdshot loads pretty well, though it did have a couple of issues with the Federal crap (surprisingly the Winchester Universal worked pretty well after the first two shots).  The TNW ASR 9mm carbine worked fairly well, but I think it needs a complete takedown, cleaning and re-lube.  I don't think it likes Winchester White Box as there were some failures to eject causing hangups (I don't like WWB and brought what I had to GET RID OF IT).  Finally the Inglis Hi Power and my Para Commander .45 did exactly what was expected of them.

My old Explorer behaved itself and did NOT leak transmission fluid all up the forest road.  I'll leave it to others to tell the tale of trucks and trailers sliding off the road to hang sideways in the trees.  : O

Can't tell that story as I don't know it!  Must have happened after I left.  I last saw him riding his quad back up to the pit while I was headed down the mountain.  We passed in the recent clearcut area between the two pits.

Was planning to attend this time but something came up with daughter's 4-H project on Saturday and at work today.
Did get some very brief trigger time on a new SP101 .22 though, but not enough time this weekend to leave the area.

Sounds like we did a good job scrubbing out the path, we even drag chain link fence behind the last vehicle to hide tire tracks in the woods.
