The gun nut that has to wait in line for 6+ months to get an approval jekbrown says "what the fuck?!?!"

I emailed Ted Clutter at 12 noon yesterday asking him what to do with my old rejected number from last year.  He responded back at 8:30 pm our time. Mind you he is in WV!  He said to resubmit and respond back with the new control number. I did so this morning at 8am and am just waiting on my approval!  Ted is helping us all out! On a side note He is a Marine 5811 as well so don't forget to tell him Semper Fi! Good luck to everyone else!

I have a 06/09/16 in the stack, about 1:00 P.M., was not an earlier denial so if I get fast track approved I will chime in.

I would expect that for the next 11 days. LOTS of outages. Some of them may even be due to actual tenchical issues. My guess is, though, most of them are ATF just having their brand of fun. The wise folk among us applied back when 41F was finalized, or before. I sent in most of my forms in June, which means it's gonna be a looooong wait along with the rest of the procrastinators.

Is there a Step by Step guide somewhere for us Washingtonians to follow for submitting a Form 1 for SBR using a trust? (efile would be great, I think).  I just created my trust this week and purchased by first suppressor.  I'm thinking maybe I should go ahead and submit a Form1 on an un-built receiver I have.  I am in the process of building a 300 Blackout Pistol w/ 10" barrel, but might want have the SBR option as well (I had two un-built receivers--one now built as a Pistol and the other "free").

Thanks and I apologize if this has been covered, but I've been Googling for something specific and not finding it.

Thanks.  So it really is as easy as it seems now that I have the Trust.  The biggest barriers, I guess, are the $200, the stability of the eFile website and the wait.

Efile has been spotty to say the least, and frankly I'm not sure it's much faster right now.

And yes, as long as you enter the info correctly (complete serial #) it's very simple. Enjoy.

Downside of eFile is there are no re-dos. if you mess up, it is disapproved and that's it. paper file- they can have you mail in corrections and maybe you'll get lucky.

Based on eForm site experience today, I may just drop paper in the mail with a paper check tomorrow.  Or should I do a Money Order since the Trust doesn't have a checking account (and won't)?

Doesn't matter where the money comes from, so long as whomever it is is a trustee or grantor or some other "responsible person" in the trust. I'd suggest using a CC. With cash back my stamps cost me $196!

I was gonna submit paper Form 1's on July 5th, but I decided to give Eforms one more try.  I submitted EForm 1s on July 4th and July 5th...took me five mins each time...no issues..probably the best E-Form experience I've had since I started E-Filing back in 2014.  Previous EForm submittal was on 6-19-2016...took me an hour from payment to submittal.

Regarding EForms corrections...it seems that an email to the ATF folks can remedy an error.

Anyone know whether one can get a real stamp instead of just the electronic stamp?

It depends on the error. I have contacted them for clarifications and they have added notes without issue.

AFAIK, you just get the electronic stamp, nothing else

1. There's no way to get a real stamp from an eForms approval...unless your dad runs ATF or some other kind of 'insider hookup' like that.

2. There is currently no remedy for corrections on eForms. Once submitted, you can't change any of the relevant data. IIRC you can attach a file still, like a trust document, after submission but that's it. If they deny your form, they immediately begin the refund process and you have to submit a new form. In the past, people have resubmitted as soon as they got denied, emailed Ol' Ted the old/new control numbers and he would usually rushed the approval through...but that practice has been killed (due to overuse/abuse or just the excessive workload in the face of the 41F deadline no one really knows for sure) recently.

Well, I did it.  I submitted my first Form 1 for an SBR!

The problems I was having yesterday were actually caused by the account creation.  I thought I had completed the sign up process, but then it wouldn't let me actually log in.  Thought maybe it just took some time for them to finalize, so I tried it again today and still couldn't get in, couldn't get a "password reset" or a "forgot user name" email.  So I went through the sign up process again and this time it worked fully and I immediately got an email back saying the account was created.  Now I'm good and my application is in!

I talked to an examiner about a week ago regarding the processing times for e-file form 1s. They said they were just working their way through the forms that were submitted in February. As for the people that got approvals immediately, they were "re-submitting" previously denied forms and Ted Clutter was approving them.

If you read the thread as I did it seems there was a gentleman that received a Form 1 back in a week. Not a re-submit. an employee at a LGS also spoke of several new Form 1 submissions coming back in 48 hours.

I have been reading the thread and it is a fluke. They won the EForms lottery and got there forms back months before everyone else in the whole country. Aside from re-submitting denied forms, I can't think of any reason a NFA examiner would bypass the thousands of forms to approve a recently submitted one.

I did a couple of submissions about 2 weeks apart, and if the control number generated for each submission is accurate and I am reading the numbers correctly, there were 14,000 submissions made in that 2 week period....

I do not know if commercial submissions are included in that number though...

One thing that I did learn is that if you are putting down what is marked on the receiver, include a picture of the markings with your form. It won't guaranty that it won't be an issue, but it may help.
