"This is theft" and "I knew nothing about it"..... There is more than one person- supposedly in the know- in the GD thread saying all those Deputys are liars. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1636537_King_County_deputy_arrested_on_prostitution__drug_charges.html&page=1 SURPRISE! |

He's done. Lot of fallout in those charging documents.... poor Tony at 24Hr Fitness of West Seattle...

If it's true others knew, you can bet that there will be more investigations and most likely some will lose their jobs.
|
|
With him getting a text message warning him about the investigation, definitely sounds like at least 1 other deputy neck deep in this situation.
|
|
I'd say the odds are pretty stacked against Darrion but still... innocent until proven guilty. I wish the best to the others being investigated. I hope their involvement was less than is being speculated.

How can someone be smart enough to hold down a job as SWAT firearms instructor, but oblivious enough to send all those texts implicating himself in criminal acts? It sounds like most of them were forensically recovered from his phone long after the event. Sending them is stupid enough. Failing to wipe your phone when you know there is a search warrant issued for you? For a deputy who has probably seen hundreds of warrants?

He looked like he had things goin for him, some people give allot just to make an honest living that he had available to him... |

There is no "wiping your phone" any more. It is amazing what can be found these days. He should have conducted his "business" on a burner phone.

He'll fucking roll.
First question, where is the damn money? Dealing steroids, selling stolen ammunition/ brass and his gear/ training business income plus 15+ year deputies don't make minimum wage and still poor enough to put her on the corner for 80%?
Let's see, a guy who is obviously into the macho side of cop work, the tattoos, the muscles, all the cool guy gear, kicking doors and slaying hos. Yeah, gambled away or there are a couple other chicks yet to come forward. They'll probably show up when the rent, or car payment, is late. |
|
There's definitely a bunch of money involved.
Where are the guns? His safe was empty, no guns no ammunition at his house. "In his own words, he said, after he learned of the investigation, 'I got something for their asses. Hang on, it's about to get real,'" Ernsdorff said. "This is not a subtle comment. This is a direct threat that 'It's going to get real,' that has sent chills throughout all the witnesses we've talked to." Ernsdorff revealed that Holiwell has 69 handguns registered under his name in the state of Washington and not one has been accounted for. According to court documents, investigators were unable to recover any firearms or ammunition from Holiwell's home when they served a search warrant in April. I can't believe he's still getting paid while being held.
My employer would say hell no I'm not paying you. Arrest them all I say and start all over with new recruits. |

The only thing they can tell is that the phone was wiped at some point. |

I'm guessing the guy is innocent.....BUT he has hardcopies of all the Lerner IRS emails....

This is not an uncommon policy. If your trying to get hired and they know you used, no job for you. But once your in, they cant touch you. You would also be surprised what RX meds they can take and still do their jobs. |

Looks like he's still in lockup: http://ingress.kingcounty.gov/inmatelookup/InterimResults.aspx
No apparent way to search, had to scroll through all the "H"'s ETA: on closer examination it says "bail denied" |
|
If you click the "search Jail Booking System" tab right above where you clicked to get the whole list you can just type in his name.
|
|

Doh. That's a lot easier.
Who denied the bail? Isn't it set by the court at $150k; does the jail have some discretion in the matter? |

Sheriff’s deputy at the center of a police corruption scandal for distributing drugs pleaded guilty Monday afternoon. Darrion Holiwell is expected to spend a year and a day in prison -- multiple terms on seperate criminal charges that would run at the same time. He's also expected to get a year of community supervision after his release. Holiwell is expected to have a sentencing hearing later this year. View Quote |

Year and a day? That fucks his firearms rights out the window.

he took a year and a day to get out of going to jail. You can never serve a day and lose your rights. The crime just has to be eligible for a year, or more, punishment, it's not the length of time served. Hell, if they give him drug diversion for the 'roids he might be out before the end of the year.
|
|
Sounds like all they really had on him was the steroids. All the range shit was well known and going on a long time. If he has piles of department equipment for the squad that will be no crime to the masters who the armed gangs serve.
As for the pimping.... Its not like she was a minor. All the pimp charges Ive ever seen had to do with minors. |

To get in you need to have a non-violent felony with a drug problem and it usually takes about 2-3 years. Lots of NA meetings and piss tests. But if you graduate the program your record is expunged. Do not know how the Feds handle this on a NCIC check but you are apparently good instate. Not sure what they have going on up north though. |

Per Phil's quote above he has pled guilty and in expected to be sentence later this year. His sentencing range and/or prosecutors recommendation is going to be a year and a day. Drug court diversion can be argued by the defense at sentencing. And with no set sentencing date they have time to screen him for eligibility before that court date.

Cop who pimped wife accused of lying to judge Judge Heller called Holiwell a "disgrace" to his profession, but agreed to waive Holiwell's financial penalties amounting to several thousand dollars in fines and court costs because Holiwell claimed he was indigent and had virtually no financial resources. Now the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is alleging Holiwell lied to the judge. Senior Deputy Prosecutor Gary Ernsdorff filed a motion Monday requesting that Judge Heller vacate the sentence and set a new hearing. Ernsdorff stated that about three weeks before his sentencing on August 4, Holiwell secretly requested a withdrawal of $181,685 from his retirement account. The prosecutor is not alleging Holiwell committed a new crime, but that he may have committed a fraud on the court. The judge could decide to set aside the previous sentence and impose more prison time, higher fines or both. View Quote |

Quoted: Of all the strangeness, the pimping thing is just weird. View Quote The sort of fail you get when you mix marraige, strippers & an 'open' relationship... From all accounts she was A-OK with (or an active promoter) stripping, prostitution & both of them sleeping around until he slept with the 'wrong' friend... Then we're off to the races for divorce, exposure of the whole thing, and so on... Once you light that fuse, every other little illegal thing he's done comes to light - roids, the theft/'supply trading', etc... And then we end up with a DV conviction, no guns, and so on... My thought is more 'if this guy is such a money-grubbing bastard, what sort of *real* corruption is he involved in'... If you'll pimp your wife out (ignoring, for the purpose of argument, that her complimentary lack of a moral-compass may have encouraged this), you'll probably take bribes & such too... |
