OK I am finally going to shoot my first match this Saturday. I know some of you guys shoot up there.

Just wondering wondering what do you guys use for mag holders??

Since no one really carries anything in my area is it OK to use pockets to get through my first match??

If you are near Gig Harbor, I can loan you some mag holders. Email me...make sure to put something in the "re" line that identifies you as responding to this thread, otherwise, it may get sent into the spam junk mail.

IIRC the stages don't generally require more than 60 rounds, you'll probably be OK with a spare in your back pocket.

Have they changed to the multi-gun format?

All that is needed for evil to flourish, is for good men to stand idle.

I've found that, as a general rule, unless you're using a flamethrower, if you see fire, something has gone wrong. -runcible

The matches have be changed to a multi-gun format since the first of the year. Make sure to bring approximately 200 rounds of rifle and at least 50 pistol. You do not need a holster for the pistol but it may be nice. As for magazines in pockets that is fine. As the others have said, there is generally no stages with more than 60 rounds of rifle. You can also pull an A-Team and tape to mags together!!! I have done that in the past.

I know this has been mentioned before to the consternation of some of the new participants, but you must have a safety check "PRIOR" to the match, and nothing can be done day of.

When and where is this match in Custer? Is it open for the public to watch? I live in the b'ham area also and would like to watch a 3-gun comp.

Multi gun? Wow.. it has been a while since I've gone to one..

Well you can get away with pockets, but way better to be using pouches.
