So does anyone know whether the usage of semi auto's for large game was even brought back up at the meeting the other day?

For big game, nope, it wasn't on the agenda...
They did, however, approve changes to the rules in special regulations areas to allow 22lr semi-auto rifles for small game... correcting an oversight in the changes made in March..
Unfortunately, it requires them to vote a second time, and their next meeting isn't until September.
IF they vote again to approve the change, they then have to "publish" the change in the "State Bulletin" for it to take effect... which usually takes another 6-8 weeks...
So if you hunt small game in a special reg area (pretty much all of SEPA), you can't use semi-auto for small game until at least late Nov or early Dec... IF they approve it again in September...

What a backwards, lame-ass way of doing things in this state....

So in the time between now and September, as many of us as possible need to have pictures of successful coyote and groundhog hunts with semi auto rifles to show them that we are the real face and future of hunting in PA.
