Can you keep an unloaded AR in your trunk in Pa

Tag for answer with proof.

It was always my belief that if you had a carry permit you could have any type of loaded firearm in your vehicle. Others have stated here that loaded long guns were not allowed. I've never seen anyone post the law that states that though.

ETA It appears those members were correct. I only skimmed the article but will read it fully.

This sentence after the insert that includes the definition of firearm has me confused. Is it saying a CCP holder can or can't have a loaded "normal rifle or shotgun"?

Hence a normal rifle or shotgun (as opposed to a duly registered National Firearms Act weapon) would not qualify as a firearm, and thus not be exempted by a person holding a Licence to carry

A normal rifle or shotgun in not a "firearm" as defined in 6102.  Therefore it is not covered under a LTCF, and must be unloaded in a vehicle.

Yes, provided you adhere to the definition of what is considered "unloaded".

Yeah, loaded mags need to be in a seperate compartment/container. Ar pistols are better because of this as already has been mentioned.

Look at my posts above to see why I made that comment or are you trying to warn me that the blue helmets are coming?
