I just moved to this state to get away from the fucking ridiculous laws. Looks like I'll be moving again in a year or so. Fuck this shit.

The House/Senate should stay red.

That's good to hear. Wolfs people were out passing out flyers at my poll. Saw no one for Corbett. As a former NYer, it hurts to see what Wolf wants, but if the house and senate can keep his ass at bay, maybe thing will be alright. Pray for our brothers to the north though, looks like cuomo is gonna win it.

I voted straight R. Unfortunately Corbett didn't win because of all the Libtards in the SW and SE corners. I don't think much changed in the state assembly, though, and it was mostly red. I know our district stayed red.

Rs picked up seats in both the senate and assembly, but lost the governorship. How does that happen?

I sincerely hope so.

Don't want to be forced to move out of state but if I must then so be it.

Anyone have a link to the aggregated state senate/assembly results?

Just looking for the R/D breakdown before and after.

Thanks,

I am hearing from others that the R's GAINED seats in both state houses.

The incoming gov (who looks like a child molester) will have a difficult time pursuing his socialist agenda.

There are of course questions about how many votes were cast.   I haven't taken a look at it yet but the numbers being thrown around would indicate a radically out of band turnout.

But there's no fraud.......

LOL at the people saying they're going to move.

PA is far from lost.  We still have both house and senate.  Wolf will not get anywhere without them.  Obviously a D in the mansion is not a good thing but it could be a hell of a lot worse.

Every person that moves simply because we have a D governor is taking their vote somewhere else instead of staying and fighting.  Pretty soon they will have nowhere to move.

To anyone confused as to how Wolf would win so easily while the Republicans tookover seats from dems in the house and senate.... here is why.

TOTAL:

CORBETT, THOMAS W. JR (REP)
1,559,523   45.19 %

WOLF, THOMAS W (DEM)
1,891,831  54.81 %

Philadelphia:

CORBETT, THOMAS W. JR (REP)
43,778  12.06 %

WOLF, THOMAS W (DEM)
319,075   87.94 %

Total Without Philly:

CORBETT, THOMAS W. JR (REP)
1,515,745   49.08 %

WOLF, THOMAS W (DEM)
1,572,756   50.92 %

Now if you look at Pittsburgh Corbett had a 50,000 vote deficit, get rid of that and they are nearly tied. But that still doesn't necessarily explain why in some counties Wolf won 60-40, while people were voting in favor of republican reps & senators in 60+% majorities.

True, but a Progressive governor and AG could still do some damage.

IMHO, I think people were really butthurt about the perceived education spending cuts and chose Wolf over Corbett for that reason.

I've seen what happens when people vote for more education spending, jobs and taxes lose every time; that and the liberal progressive Governor/AG combo made MA a right fustercluck for gun rights.

Although having Corbett re-elected would have allowed us to move forward with some more  pro-gun legislation, the fact that we picked up seats in both the State Senate and House of Reps will at least provide some major opposition to Wolf's proposed tax hikes.

We picked up 8 seats in the House and 3 seats in the Senate.  We now hold a 35-vote majority in the House and a 10-vote majority in the Senate.

I'll be really interested to see if we can still get some pro-gun bills passed.  You need a 2/3 (67%) majority to override a veto and Republicans currently make up 119 of 203 (59% ) of the House and 30 of 50 (60%) of the Senate.

Make sure you guys thank your newly appointed representatives for their hard work and remind them they work for us!

I don't understand why Corbett was so disliked. Usually an incumbent is difficult to unseat. Who did he piss off? How do we lose the Governor's office when the Ds are getting bitch slapped all over the rest of the country? They elected a Repub governor in Maryland for Pete's sake.

Wolf is as bad as Obama and is a bitch for the public service unions. I hope the General Assembly saves us from this creep.

PSU alumni pissed about Paterno scandal, lots of union people in PA who are conservative, and the fact that he just wasn't a very good governor.  We survived 8 years of Rendell, we'll survive this just fine.  But if you want to move let me know when your moving sales begin.

I had to sneak out of Maryland to get here. I'm not going anywhere. At least not until they pass some crap like they have in NY or MD. Hopefully, the General Assembly will keep this ass in a permanent state of frustration.

Philly is flanked by Bucks, Montgomery, and Delaware counties - all of which have a shit ton of liberal populations. So it's certainly not just Philly and/or Pittsburgh that are contributing to the socialist fervor - it's the burbs that surround those cities as well.

The surrounding Philly burbs counties make up approx 2,000,000+ people - a very large chunk of which are democrats.
