First...  F**K BURMUDA

Was doing some grass abatement in my backyard with one of those giant blowtorches and got close enough that the wind took the flame from the burning weed into the bottom of the cactus for a few seconds.  It only lit about a square inch of the spines and was at 2-3sqin before I realized it was not going out..  Blowing on it did not work and what you see in the pic below was how fast it went between me going 20ft away, turning the hose on and dousing it.

My method is to just go near it and then pull by hand anything close to plants.  I failed.

It is just bald on one side now lol.. should be ok.. i hope.

When I was a kid, a friend of mine had the bright idea of trying to burn a few spines on one of the saguaros in my mom's front yard with a lighter.  Within a few seconds of catching fire it jumped to the other spines and burned a 3 foot section on one side before we got it extinguished.  To this day there is a big scar on the saguaro where the fire was.

The neighbors did that when we were kids. The saguaro lit up like a match.
