Time, place, location and manner...
This was more than a problem of open vs conceal, this was failure of situational awareness and to retain the weapon. Just dumb. Now what if the guy had a back up gun when he went after the thief who then pointed the gun at him? now it escalates to a shooting? |

Years ago, I was buying a rifle from an individual on backpage. We met at a parking lot and when he got out the car, his CCW fell out of his non-retention IWB holster on to the ground.
We both looked at it for a second before he apologized and picked it up. Shocked me a bit at first. We looked over each others ID, but just to be safe, I had Phoenix PD run the number on the rifle after I met him. |

Wild for me is anywhere 15 minutes from my house and up into the hills and mountains...or what's left of them if the transplants stop fucking with our forests

For me to OC in town, a retention holster would be my only choice. I've never done it though. A snap holster has always been the rig for desert OC. |
