Had the hunt today!
Great thing they put on. It's sponsored primarily by the National Wild Turkey Federation and Arizona Outdoor Sports. They had a short shotgun shooting seminar with Tom Slaughter of AOS and then went to the clays range. All the kids had a chance to break some clays with a professional shooter. Then, off to the fields where they provided a dog handler, a dog, a flusher, and a mentor.
Each group had 2 kids, 6 birds total in the field. The kid she was with shot one on the ground that wouldn't fly, then my daughter knocked one out of the sky, they both missed birds 3, 4, 5, and bird 6 my daughter hit in the tail, then the 2nd kid knocked it down. So, they both got one on the wing! Super awesome!
There was a taxidermist set up there with a very special price for the kids so my daughter decided to have her bird mounted (we will get the meat later next week).

Knocking one down! If you look close you can see the puff of feathers as my daughter hit it, then the other boy finished it. Nice teamwork!
Heading back after the hunt:
Success!
