We have a soon to be two year old French Bulldog that has recently become aggressive to an older passive Pug. They are both females and have been together since the French was 11 weeks old.

It's not over food or toys, it's just out of the blue. The French will stare down the Pug and charge and try to bite, then gets aggressive with whom ever is trying to intervene.

That part in red.  The humans don't have a higher rank in the pack and the French needs to be knocked down a peg.

I can't help solve the problem beyond that, but I can recommend these folks for professional help.

It's interesting you say that, I have never witnessed this behavior as it only happens when I am at work. My wife and kids tell me it happens and have videoed it recently. Does that make me the pack leader??

I will contact Partners.....Thank you!

Happens when your not home because the dog only sees you as the superior dog.

Someone told me or I read a story about a hunting dog.  Saw the man as the alpha.  Great retriever when the man and dog were out hunting.  If the wife came along, the dog refused to retrieve, looking at the wife to do it.  I guess he saw himself as '2nd in command' and when she was there, it should be her duty.
