Total Ghetto. It even smells low class.
You'll see more neck tattoos in one day at that mall then the rest of your life combined. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Malls are 1980.
Try Desert Ridge off of the 101 of you want that type of shopping in NW Phoenix. |

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking of that mall since it's not far from Pappadeaux but I think we'll try the Scottsdale Fashion Square.

If you are up near Metrocenter, Desert Ridge is going to be closer to you than scottsdale fashion sq. On the other hand if you go out to scottsdale then you should a trip out to scottsdale gun club.

Street urchins eventually destroy all upper class malls. You will notice it happening even in Scottsdale and Chandler Fashion Square. People with no money to actually spend go hang out at a fancy mall to feel better about themselves or something
There's a development near downtown Atlanta that some investor group spent upwards of a billion dollars building with pricey lofts, etc. for all the hipsters to live in - within 6 months of opening, I bet you can guess how it turned out. After the first of several gang shootings, no sane person was going to go spend money there.

Westcor build Metrocenter, many moons ago. The area aged, and well, it ain't what it used to be. I've heard a rumor a big company is trying to rebuild it. Rather difficult when the anchor tenants are gone. Sears is still there, last I looked. Bullocks, Diamonds, Goldwaters - crud, I can't remember who else used to be there! Farells, a LONG LONG time ago. Ice Skating, too.
I'd avoid it. But YMMV. |

And the lounge/bar that looked like an airliner. It was gone before I was old enough to go in.

Robinson's-May, Joske's, Bullards, JC Penny - sheesh - it's amazing how many I'd forgotten! Indoor malls attract a lot of thug ass thugs that don't have A/C in the house....... or won't turn theirs on because they have no money to spend because they spent it all on 24" wheels and a shitty stereo for their 1986 Cutlass Supreme with the dingle balls hanging from the rear view mirror. And even that piece of shit doesn't have A/C.

While I don’t spend much time at Ghetto Center, they have been working on improving it. The new owners are tearing down some of the run down restaurants and replacing them. I’m a few miles to the north and west of the mall and have seen the nasty foreclosures being bought up and flipped into nice housing with younger middle class folk buying them up. A lot of the shady folk are being weeded out slowly.

Democrats ruined it lol. They did all those low interest loans for diversity and section 8 bullshit in the neighborhood, that lowered property rates so more landlords had to turn to section 8 or let less than reputable tenants come in and it spiraled, it's called the broken window effect. When I was in my teens is when Metro really took a dive, they use to bring a police van there every night and fill it up. We used to just sit on the bench outside the food court and watch them arrest one person after another.
They could fix that place quick with a males must wear collared shirt and belts rule also after 4pm you must be accompanied by an adult. Those two rules alone get rid of 70% of the shitbags. The good news is Norterra is 10 minutes to the north of it and it's really nice. |

Shit, Metro was where my Recruiter Gunny Rodriguez worked out of back in 85 when I went to boot. Used to be a nice place, as was Desert Sky, (when it was Westridge) and I spent part of my senior year working the movie theater there, GMC (General Movies Cinema). Today, it is not necessarily a shit hole, but it does have a ton of lower price bargain shops, the major tenants of my youth are gone, save Sears, and the clientele is mostly Hispanic. Even my old stomping (and best make out, cop a feel spot) ground, the movie theater, is Spanish language only.
