Hey guys, the wife and I are going down to see my bro this Friday. He lives in Goodyear and since were leaving the kids at home we need some fun things to do. I'm into car shows, the wife is into whatever I take her to, lol. Any cool bars, clubs etc that we should be checking out? We are going to Sedona Sunday for a Jeep tour but other than that our calender is free.

Thanks in advance

One of the best car shows out there is the Pavilion car show in Scottsdale. It is every Saturday afternoon till 10ish. 100-300 vehicles show depending on weather or weekends

You will have a good time on the jeep tour! I also really like the drive from Sedona to Flagstaff via Oak Creek Canyon. You could also hop over to Jerome from Sedona for a few hours as well. Jerome has mining history, wine, and arts n crafts going on.

If you like exotics, Saturday the 7th at Scottsdale Rd and Doubletree there is Cars & Coffee.

Edit; never mind, you leave the day before.

There is nothing to do in Goodyear, NOTHING. If you like country bars Roman's Oasis can be ok sometimes. If your going to Sedona you should check out Jerome, it's about 25mi to the west. Cool little town and the Spirit Room usually has decent live bands on the weekend. If you go there you need to eat at the Haunted Hamburger. It's awesome food.

The few times I was there, the crowd pissed me off. A bunch of redneck cowboys who only listen to rap, R&B who are having an identity crisis. But, hey, if that's your thing, it's a fun place.

On the plus side, the same night, some cutie was hitting on my wife grabbing her bewbs. Said my wife could turn her into a lesbian. Sadly, nothing came of it.

My son and I stopped at a place called "Ivy League Dogs" and really liked the service and food. Google it and check out the reviews.

Only really heard the R&B stuff in the back room. They usually have a country band on Fridays and Saturdays on the stage in the main room. I don't go there much anymore, last few times I was there there was a bunch of bigger girls.

This really surprises me, my grandma used to bartend there like 20 years ago and it was a nice little country bar. Had a great fish fry and horseshoes every Friday.

That seams like a good idea, have to talk it over with the boss, lloll. Looks like Whiskey Row suffered a fire back in May, I'm sure everything is cleaned up by now.

- Wife also thought about going to a theme park, she found something called Coasters and Castles, any thoughts??

- How is the Phoenix Zoo?

- Anyone been to the Yard House?

Wish I could go for two weeks, LOL. Wife wants to move down there so bad in a few years, it would be a far change as far as gun laws compared to NY.

Castles and Coasters...Dont do it. G H E T T O.

It is at Metro Center, which at one point was the pinnacle of phoenix malls as well as in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure(San Dimas mall). Now it is mostly ghetto stores, and empty stores including the surrounding strips in the parking lot.

Wow, now this is why I post questions, LOL, Big Thanks for the heads up. Sounds kind of what Crystal Beach by me turned into. Yeah, we get enough ghetto living close to Buffalo, we don't need it on vacation. I am really thinking about the Rodeo in Prescott. Looks like that may be a go.

So didn't do a ton out here except for lounging in the pool, smoking some of my favorite cigars and drinking, LOL. We did make it out to Sedona, took an awesome 3 hour Jeep ride and then traveled into Jerome for some shopping and food. We decided to eat at the Haunted Hamburger, great hamburger but nothing really out of the ordinary. We had an awesome lunch to say the least. Cooking some ribs, steak and salmon for our 4th of July cook out and of course, its RAINING!!! So crazy

If you don't have plans tomorrow, Phoenix has many excellent cigar shops worth checking out.

You're in Tempe some of the time and didn't go to Mill Ave?

The BigBang (Dueling Pianos) is a must. I think my song suggestion wins the crowd over every time. Bohemian Rhapsody.

We were on our way to Mill the one day and decided to go back and ly in the pool, lol. We did visit that piano bar a few years ago, awesome time, couldn't believe how packed it was though. I also enjoyed the bar upstairs...The Library..it will be sorely missed, lol.
