Makes sense. Since I been living in Phoenix, 6 years now, I have been buying my gear in OD.

Ok, got my shirt today... First impressions - the T-shirt quality is good at last
Sorry for the washed out photos, sunlight outside today is pretty bright and screwing with me. This is straight out of the package, so it's a bit wrinkled and has some fuzz on it.
Here's the logo from the front:
![]() Back logo appears much larger for the AZHTF than the previous runs that I've seen on people:
![]() I'll update further once I'm finished washing it and see how the logos feel at that point but it would appear these new shirts are a vast improvement over the prior ones and I'm quite happy with it so far.
#############
ETA: Uhhh bad news.... give me a minute to get new pics
After one washing in cold water using Tide, and a short trip in the dryer the logos have faded substantially, they've actually turned white in places:
![]() At first I thought I was seeing things... here's a closeup:
![]() Front logo has faded a lot as well, most noticeable in the red ring around the perimeter of the logo:
![]() This is the same detergent I use with all my other T-shirts without issue...several other T-shirts were washed with this one and they all appear fine.
On the plus side, it feels nice after washing it...although I'm not much into the weathered look this soon
![]() ETA2: Only thing I can think of is the inks used don't like Tide with color safe bleach in it. Strange, considering all my other T-shirts get washed regularly in the same thing and don't do this.
Here's two shirts from the same load. These have each been washed at least 20 times in the same detergent and reds and yellows and oranges look fine in these. Second shirt has some goo on it from the dog attacking me as I was taking these to photograph

It very well could be a problem with the shirt, but make sure you're also washing them correctly. They need to be washed inside out (important), in warm water, with 100% chlorine free bleach. This is the first time we've heard about the new shirts washing out, so just contact sales@ar15.com and we'll get them replaced for you.

I've always been told to wash darks in cold water I did indeed turn it inside out to wash it. But yes, it's chlorine free color safe bleach in the tide and seems to play nicely with my other shirts. |

Cold water should be ok, just not hot. It could be an issue on our end or with the shirt itself (loose fibers or poor cooking) which we haven't seen. We've tested a number of shirts with the wash and it definitely sounds like color issue because you are getting the white to show under the red. This means the bleach either reacted to the ink in a weird way or the shirt cooked poorly and thus "flaked" or basically lost ink in the wash.
A properly cooked shirt should hold without issue and since we haven't washed with bleach in tests, it's hard to tell. We will of course replace it for you. I think first washing is key because it removes excess treatment and also helps during drying to ensure the colors took to the shirt well. I've seen a few shirts i own lose a few fibers, which is common in 100% cotton shirts, but this is different. |

I sent an e-mail to sales@ar15.com as Spawn asked. Did you need me to send this shirt back?

Hey guys, I know you were all busy last week with Shot. It's been about a week and I haven't heard anything in response to the e-mail I sent to sales@ar15.com per Spawn and haven't seen a response in here. Let me know how to proceed.

Keep the shirts we'll send more out. It's been a little busy on return so we'll have them out this week if they haven't gone out yet.

I got my shirt in the mail today and washed as prescribed. Here is the back logo after it came out of the wash:
And here is detail on the top area with the white showing through a bit:
I shot these in indirect sunlight and the only things I adjusted were color temperature and black point to make it as close as I could to what the naked eye sees. Overall I am pretty satisfied with the shirt and I don't think the color issue is very major at all. I'm just curious if eliminating the white border would help with the color issue at all. Maybe I'm not as picky as some of you, but for 12 bucks I would say this is worth it. Hopefully this will get some of the fencepost sitters to get their own copy. ![]() |

Maybe I am more picky, but that is more color fade than I would expect after a single washing, though not as pronounced as mine was. Also, I just received delivery of the replacement shirt today - will likely wash it tomorrow but I'm rather terrified to do so. Will be washing it with other t-shirts again in cold water and turned inside out using same detergent unless someone tells me differently

There's a $5 discount on shirts with the large AZ logo on the back. It wont show up until you add it to the cart.

Or has this issue been fixed. I still havent had any problems with the first batch that i bought. |

For a while for you guys.
We're still considering a break in sales again to try to change the process a bit. The extreme cold up here has been causing problems with consistency. The ink should take and hold for months, but we're seeing fading in our early shirts which are about 2-3 months old. We'll update the main thread if we stop taking orders until this horrible cold front finally passes. The shirts are coming out great, but they need to stay like they look when they are printed. |

Ok, here's a better shot of the first shirt on the left and the new shirt on the right. I think this shows much better just how faded the original shirt got after a single washing compared to fresh out of the box:
![]() I have just put both of them in with some other t-shirts into the washing machine. I have used 1/3 the amount of detergent I used the first time with the first shirt, hoping that may have a positive effect on not fubar'ing the new shirt. Shirts are once again both turned inside out and being washed in cold water - which incidentally is VERY cold today
Will post another comparison shot of the two after they are done. Not good - I babied the shirt this time - 1/3 the detergent, reduced washing time to half a normal cycle and still got color fade. Not as pronounced as the first shirt, but still white blotches in the reds and general fading of the blues:
![]() Some closeups:
![]() ![]() ![]() No offense guys - I know you've been working hard to get these shirts 100% and just the t-shirt quality by itself is very good now - but the printing is definitely not holding up to washing, even when babying it

so should I wait for a bit to get any more shirts until this gets figured out? I want a couple more because I got blood on them but I want to make sure I don't get any with this fading problem.
