Any recommendations for a nice hotel that is within walking distance or has a shuttle service to and from games, and are relatively quiet and free of idiots?

Westin, Hyatt, Clarion, Omni.  You can easily walk to the game from any of them. The problem is crazy can happen anywhere.  There are also places in N. Ky. that would work.  It's pretty easy to get around in Cincinnati.  From N. Ky if you were in Covington you could walk across a bridge to the game.
