I went to PB last night with my BIL using a Groupon deal. Using this coupon, the pricing wasn't bad at all. Two people in a stall at a discounted rate, one free gun rental, $10 off a rental, free target hanger and one free target. I think the total for an hour was under 17 bucks.
Store was nicely organized, well stocked and clean. The prices were a bit on the high side on both guns and the ammo. I don't see myself buying a firearm from them anytime soon.
As most have said, the range is clean and well lit. It is also very well ventilated. It's nice that if you want to spend the money, you can shoot rifles. Even if it is only out to 25yrds. The stalls are small and there is very limited "counter" space for staging. I would suggest double hearing protection as there is something about the harmonics of the booths. It seems like the bullet resistant glass used as dividers in the rear part of the stall amplifies the sound.
Now we get to the way things are run.
As many have said, I could see how the little "up sells" get to be a bit much. $5 for this, $3 for that, 30% more than most local retailers for ammo to shoot in the rentals. The RSO's seemed pleasant, but like most gun shops, they were very impressed with their own "knowledge". Much of what I heard was not what I would call, sound advice. I will say, they ran a safe range, it's just their gun, gun cleaning and reloading "facts" were a bit off.
I probably won't be a regular there, I find Atwells more my speed. If Atwell's was closed or too busy, I might stop in to PB for an hour of shooting. I'm thankful I have my own private outdoor range, I just wish it was indoors during some weather.
