There won't be any rioting. There will be annoying, traffic blocking marches though. The Oberlin kids care more than the actual residents. Odds are, if you avoid the nightly news, you won't even notice it.

Why would there be arrests in the Tamir Rice shooting? What crime was committed? The video evidence clearly shows Rice reaching for a pistol in his waistband. Anyone who's taken a decent defensive shooting course knows "outdrawing" someone like this is critical especially at this short range.
I do fault the driver of the zone car who put his partner in this too-close situation. But that's not a crime either. Don't bring airsoft to a gunfight. Don't put yourself within pistol range of an active shooter. -- Chuck |

Cleveland police have already contacted the surrounding cities and suburbs about having extra officers available in case the residents get a little out of control.
For the Republican Convention next year, the amount of cops that will be in the city is going to be staggering. |

I hope the judge waits until at Monday the 17th to announce his decision. If he does it on the 15th, there will be lots of cops in town for police memorial events. Drunken out of town cops and rioters would be a crazy mix!

I have talked to some police from the suburbs and they have said if shit gets out of hand that ClePD has asked for their help and a officers will render mutual aid.
I know the cops in my city really don't take any shit from people and would lock it down if need be but I'm really not worried as I already don't go into the areas that they would happen nor can I see the massive amount of leos that would respond let it move to the nicer areas. |

The guard is just on notice to be ready. Same as LOTS of area LEOs. I have heard rumors that the judge will wait until next Monday to announce the Brelo decision. That way the police memorial ceremonies are not interrupted. Although some assholes might make a bad decision to try to cause trouble during those ceremonies. |

Well,the latest from the AG is that he wants to up the recruitment requirements to mandate a HS diploma or GED even though I've never met a cop without at least that. He also wants to increase basic training and up the mandatory 4 hrs of continuing education annually to 40 hours. He never mentions that 40 hours will cost about $60 million state wide. Does the state have another $60million to tell people what they already know?

P.S. just had a beer with a Cleveland lawyer in a mega-firm whose office building is at North Point (9th and Lakeside.) he says a group of African-Americans in uniforms with badges or sleeve insignia (Pfc, Cpl, Sgt) were demonstrating outside of Cleveland City Hall today. the lawyer told me that the Partners in the office have contingency plans for "events" and that all lawyers are now required to have their laptops with them 24/7, as they may be working at home, in court, or "places other than North Point" for the next 7-10 days if things go hot. the lawyer also showed me his newest piece, a Sig Traditional Ultra, that he keeps in the small of the back. he's been a ccw from day 1. here's part of the festivities today on East 9th Street in Cleveland blocking traffic. guess they don't believe in letting people get to/from work, but what the heck--there are now 100,000,000 Americans who are able to work, but are not working.

The Brelo verdict should be announced on Monday. Cleveland PD and the troopers will be in place before the announcement. "Protesters" will be allowed to peacefully march or block streets. If you work downtown I would leave work before the verdict is read.

It seems like that is a very aggressive and antagonistic move. |

Got a pre-recorded message yesterday from the CPS superintendent saying parents can keep their kids home from school when the verdict is read without attendance consequences (my kids go to CPS). But no one knows WHEN the verdict will be read
