Former Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Leland, who is now a state representative from
Columbus, said Strickland is "absolutely running. I just wrote him a check for $5,400, so he better
be running.”

Well, according to BFA he switched sides (anti-gun) after he was unelected as Ohio's governor. Now that he's considering running again in Ohio he's possibly pro gun again.

Don't have a link handy for the story. Have to proceed with caution before casting a vote for Strickland.

BFA endorsed Strickland gov last time he ran in Ohio. Doesn't sound like he'll get their endorsement this time.

Last week, amidst news that former Governor Ted Strickland (D) is considering a run for U.S. Senate against Senator Rob Portman (R), Buckeye Firearms Association published my article informing voters of Strickland's involvement over the past year as President of the Center for American Progress Action Fund, an anti-gun rights lobbying group in Washington D.C.

After providing many examples of CAP's anti-gun activities, I concluded that former Governor Ted Strickland, despite the good he did for gun owners when he lived in Ohio, has completely and totally lost his way in Washington D.C.

The article drew quick attention. Less than two hours after the article was published, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) sent the article to its "Rapid Response" email list. From there, news of the article was quickly picked up by media - first by the Cleveland Plain Dealer and then from the Associated Press.

The Cincinnati Enquirer is now reporting that Strickland suddenly quit his position at CAP last week...

I thought Portman said he wouldn't be running again after his term expires. I guess that was just talking about not running for President.

Precisely. Portman is a squish, but I don't know who in their right mind would vote for Strickland.

I hope a strong Tea Party candidate comes forward to challenge Portman in the primary

Strickland was generally pro gun until he was a lame duck.

Other than him being pro gun he was very left leaning and I could not vote for him based on his stance on pretty much every other issue.

Fuck Ted Strickland

He was out there campaigning for the Communist in Chief like they were best friends. He's a Democrat, which means he is anti gun because the National Democrat party is anti gun and he will be like Joe Manchin running as pro gun then trying to pass universal background checks in the Senate.

You people who think this guy is anything but a damn anti gun communist need your heads examined. Progressive, socialist, communist....call it what it is.

yep, ...Strickland was good while governor (1 term), ..but toward the end, he started drifting.... I suspected he would, ...I also recall him campaigning for barak Hussein Obama, and he even said something to the effect "you don't have anything to fear about barak Obama on guns"... (there was actually a poor quality youtube clip from that campaign stump speech where he says that)...

If Strickland gets to DC, he'll tow the party line and forget that Ohio exists.

I called Renacci's office a few times this month on Net Neutrality, and my own congressman can give a shit about my opinion.
