Yeah but to get to those links you have to read through hundreds of posts.  The link to the bill as passed and the synopsis in the first post deserves it's own thread, that's why I posted it.

OFCC has a nice tabular summary of the bill, showing what sections of the bill do what and affect which parts of the statute:

Too much reading for my old eyes.... Do the new rules eliminate the NCIS check and allow the license holder to purchase the weapon by just showing their CHL to the FFL?

I've been told that, but I don't see it in a quick scan of the rules listed above.

No
That,, along with a stand your ground law and repeal of duty to inform, are changes I hope will come out of the next session.

This was not already the case?

I think it was.  I carried on my AZ permit while waiting on my OH renewal and the CCW clerk at Erie County Sheriff's office said that was ok.

This absolutely will enable Ohioans with a CHL either new or renewed after the date this law takes effect to buy a gun at a dealer and bypass the NICS check.

However, we need to get on the list the ATF puts out that allows dealers to do this.  That list is here  https://www.atf.gov/content/firearms/firearms-industry/permanent-brady-permit-chart  and it is what most dealers use.  ATF needs to review Ohio law and get Ohio added.  For this reason and some other state recognition issues is the only reason to do NICS compliant check.

I believe this is included as they changed the reciprocity requirement for non residents with a valid permit from their resident state. It probably needed added back with the exact wording of the newly passed law.

Will this allow Indiana residents to now carry in Ohio? Previously the Indiana license was not recognized in Ohio.

Yes, but don't do so until it takes effect which should be around March 20, 2015.

Check here for effective date, which is not posted yet.
