Friend asked me to sell an SKS for him and I don't know the value.

The receiver is marked SKS 7.62 X 39 Norinco China Poly U.S.A ATL. Georgia

Says he purchased it new 25 years back and it has never been fired.

4/5 Serial numbers match, the one on the stock is different.

Has a new in the cosmoline cleaning kit in the stock.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

The stock not matching will hurt you.  Look up the factory code on the left side.  Many were a triangle 26.

The rest of the markings on the left side of the receiver are:

XXX- 3 Chinese letters followed by a rectangle with 0138 stamped inside then a 23 stamped beside the serial number. The serial number is 5 digits and starts with a 0

If a photo would help I can do that.

He can't remember what he paid but figured it was less than $100.

Thanks shotar. I assumed sub $400 but thought I should check. Trying to be fair to the buyer and seller.

Haven't got any responses back from the AK-47 side of the site.

I would agree around $350.00 would be a good start.  If the stock matched you culd get more.
