I saw these issues on my absentee ballot and knew nothing about them. I'm admittedly not as well-informed on the issues as I ought to be. I did some research tonight and came to the conclusion that these were "devisive" issues created by the socialist dems to promote their agendas. Is this correct?

Here is the best article I found that (I think) lays out at least part of what this is all about:

Great info! Thanks!

Here are two links from that site regarding these two issues (that are very vague on the ballots):

I'm still confused on issue 1. I've read the links, I must be really dumb.

Basically, the way I understand it, there is already a 32 member comission in place to propose changes to the constitution. If passed, the new convention would only add more politicians, beaurocracy, and cost to the process (bigger government; more tax dollars required).

Here are two brief articles:

I read an article on Issue 2 last week and knew I was voting NO and the same on issue 1

I also agree on not messing with the constitution

Came here to find out what these are about. Issue 2 sounds very dangerous. I'll also tell the wife.

We may be in trouble on this one.
I got a pro issue 2 flyer with a picture of a firefighter on it.
It said something along the lines of,"Vote yes in this issue 2 to prevent another SB5."
So I asked my cousin who is a firefighter how he felt about it. He said "Firefigters are for it."

According to my local news broadcast late last night, both failed miserably.  Some 60+% voted no for both issues.

So glad both these amendments failed.  Some good news at least.
