THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT It looks like it's going to be a fairly cool spring season in general. I'm still hoping for a few warm days in the coming weeks but not holding my breath. |

I would love to go, but i haven't been in years! I see them on trial cams on the property but haven't hunted it yet, but the last time i went i brought a big boy home and had him mounted flying, that damn bird wouldn't fit on a single wall in the house! but he is hanging at the property, but good luck to all who will get out!!

Don't forget to spray your hunting clothes with Permethrin. The ticks this year are the worst I've ever seen. |

Well I read in BFA that a ton of birds were harvested opening day. I am hoping to go out on Friday... I should be able to take the day out of the office, but this afternoon it sounded like I don't. We shall see. I haven't killed a bird in 3 years, it's been 2 since I called one in, and I didn't get to hunt a single day of turkey last year, I'm definitely overdue.

Did a shout out to my buds: 22 pounder taken in Knox county; smaller birds gotten elsewhere, BUT
I was talking to a factory rep at RUGER, who said a farmer from Iowa called him to say he got (get this) a 33 pounder! missed the Iowa state record by a few ounces... |

According to the Ohio Div. of Wildlife tweet I received yesterday....
"Ohio Hunters harvested 8,898 wild turkeys the first week of spring turkey hunting season. Ashtabula is top county" |

I usually try to get out to Ashtabula - hope they leave a few for me on public land... Friday is no haps, guess it's gotta wait for the weekend. |
