Pete Denlinger from West Jeff Outfitters (formerly Big Darby Creek Shooting Range) passed away this morning of an apparent heart attack. He will be missed.

I will try to post updates on funeral arrangments, etc. as they become available.

ETA: I modified the thread title to avoid the confusion of duplicate threads. I apologize for not doing that in the beginning.

There are over 550 million firearms in worldwide circulation. That's one firearm for every twelve people on the planet. The only question is: How do we arm the other 11?

well as close as to a older brother i can get .... my friend Pete Denlinger owner of west Jefferson out fitters former owner of big Darby shooting range ( thanks to our government stealing the land ) passed this morning about 9 am while shoveling snow from his car ..
i had the wife take me to the shop today about 930 ( when he usually arrived)so i can get out and BS with him and he didn't show and Debbie showed up about 1010 am asking where he was .. i told her i don't know talked to him last night and he told me to be here about 930 and i am still waiting ... she said this isn't like him and i am going over to his house ( about 4 blocks away ) about 10 minuets later i heard the squad and had a feeling of sickness in my stomach
and didn't think much of it ....
then she pulled in 20 minuets later crying her eyes out and told me
Pete was like a older brother .. many times at 1030 pm my phone would ring and he said his car wouldn't start and i would out to get it going for him or take him home ... i could talk to him like a older brother , the gun shop was like cheers we all would hang out there and swap the crap and have a great time .. hell i would go out and work the range and counter free of pay just to spend time with him and bring steaks to grill out ...
Pete was a harsh man if you did not understand him and when he got to know you it was like uncle Pete .. to be honest i am sitting here crying as i type this ... Ive held it to gether as long as i could .. I'm not pissed at the fact that he has passed ... but those of us that knew him lose a family member cause we all joked and called him uncle Pete ... except me he was my older brother ...
God speed my brother ... as i will miss you ....

Rip guy.

I'm still upset over Battle Institute shutting down the range, nothing but a power grab.

I was just there last weekend, he helped me pick out some magpul stuff . I really loved darby creek and his store was the best place I've been to for AR accessories. I'm sorry for his family, and I'll definitely miss him even though I only interacted with him as a customer.
