Note, that doesn't mean there are no hoops to jump through. On a quick read, it seems likely that it might be less difficult to bring in if already transferred to him before he arrives. |

Strictly speaking, it must be sent to an FFL if he is already a resident of CA (its off roster but they can still transfer it as an exempt transaction with an OPLAW inter-family form). However if he lived with you and got the pistol during that time, he is bringing it in as a new resident and needs only fill out a form within 2 months or so of moving into CA.
