Cable cars! Gotta ride the cable cars. Not sure the best one but kind of think a later ride might be less crowded. Lombard Street. Day time view and experience, as with cable cars, is better but summer tourist time, evening might be less crowded. Note that if you turn right at the bottom and try to follow that street, you will find some very steep slopes and interesting intersections. Fort Point. Golden Gate Bridge. Explore some of the old coastal defense batteries, there are some on both sides. There are a number of different historic old streetcars from various cities which run along the waterfront.Check out Golden Gate Park. check the museums. The kids might like the Japanese Tea Garden. Traditional architecture and plantings but also interesting step stone and steep arched bridges over the waterways.
