As a registered voter I got the voter information guide and was confused because I thought it was the phone book at 222 pages for 15 propositions. Knowing that I’ve been fooled before I thought I would reach out and as opinions on decoding this’s year’s batch of lies.

Thought it might be fun to hear some comments and see how the board here votes.

Prop 56 Cigarette tax of $2 a pack. Taxes of $1 to 1.4 billion dollars uses to fund prevention, research and law enforcement.

We already have too many taxes on cigarettes, and I'm not fond of a majority penalizing a minority that it dislikes through force of law. Voting "no" on this one.

I used to smoke, no good comes of it, I would be fine with tobacco being illegal, but a BS initiative is not the solution.

I don't smoke and I will vote no.
Cig tax then soda tax then fast food tax then ammo tax. One small bite at a time

Find a small group and tax them. Find next small group, tax them.

I don't smoke cigarettes. I occasionally smoke a cigar and taxes will go up on cigars too. We have way too much govt in CA. Starve it out. Vote NO.

Agree. Noon all tax increases, even sin taxes.

No, in fact repeal the cigarette tax altogether & make them sales tax exempt; let them smoke themselves to death and starve the .gov.
