Any lessons learned during the sale/purchase and relocation that you can share, perhaps tax issues, insurance or others? Are you on a well or city piped water? Sewer or septic? |

Where in AZ will you be moving to and when? Would love to welcome a CA transplant (being one myself). You are going to LOVE AZ. The summers as you know are brutal, but who the hell plans on spending the day outside when it's 112+?
ETA: Just reread your post.... Payson. GREAT choice. The hunting and fishing in that area is off the charts. Welcome!!! |

If the buyer is financing through Navy Fed CU run away. Buyer was pre-approved for a VA loan, a closing date was set and 1 week before closing NFCU turned down the loan. Buyer was able to get a conventional loan but it delayed the closing by 2 weeks. Almost lost the house in Payson. Water, septic and gas is city, trash is private. Electric is APS, 2/3 the cost. Insurance decreased by 2/3. I payed cash and my closing went very smooth. In dealing with the different city departments it's been great. You can talk with a real person on the phone or in 5 minutes go to their office. Let me know if you have more questions. |

In 6 months I can purchase a resident hunting and fishing license. My current out of state is valid for the next 5 months. |

Make your money and retire out of a high income state like CA and retire in a cheaper state.
