The wife is working for some nice folks who help out a bunch of CA gunshops and it sounds like one of those shops is moving, essentially down the road, and there's a claim that in CA, you must pick up the purchased handgun from the exact same physical location as it was purchased. It's supposed to be part of the same law that's been declared unconstitutional (the 10 day waiting period thing) but all I ever see when conducting some google-fu is the 10 day part, nothing about picking it up.

Is there any truth to that?

If so, anyone have the law to cite so I can pass it along?

You need to pick it up from the same FFL. For example, if you buy a gun at a gun show and you perform the initial transfer at a transfer dealer who has a booth at the show, you don't need to first wait ten days, and then wait until that same transfer dealer is back at the same gun show in order to pick it up - you go to their physical store and pick it up there.
