Someone was looking for the barrel and overall firearm lengths which are legal in California.  I went to the DOJ web site but could not find it and the search function was not working (at all).  Does anyone here have credible numbers and a reference to the source from which those numbers were obtained?

So an AR pistol is a negative here?

The firearm has to have been registered as a pistol, not as a rifle.  Rifle laws do not apply to pistols.

Once registered as a rifle, it cannot be legally converted to a pistol.

So I can have an AR pistol while stationed here?

They are considered assault weapons due to the forward magazine well (magazine not in the pistol grip), but not due to barrel length.

There are legally owned AR pistols here in California.
