Not that I ever posted about it here, ahem, but going through a visual bag check, which ranges from pretty lax to pretty thorough, depending, while wearing a very visible clip knife is asking to get turned back.
And don't wait until you're in the line to decide to move it all the way in to your pocket. Most of the security guys there are pretty sharp. Some aren't, don't plan on running in to the klunks.
The only thing that they want employees to "advise" guests to not bring to the main gate are wagons or anything getting pulled. Unless that wagon or basket is carrying medically necessary items, like O2 tanks, etc, it isn't going in.. Off-color shirts, revealing wear, etc, etc etc, turn backs are the job of security and main gate personnel, so it's unlikely anybody is going to warn you at the Park about clip knifes, you get told at the gate. And don't argue about things, it isn't going to get you anywhere. You might get a voucher for a stroller.
There is a Kennel at the Main Gate. DOGS MUST HAVE VERIFICATION OF SHOTS FROM A VETERINARIAN. They have (or had) a fax at the kennel, doesn't help if your Vet is closed. In the past, at times, also had to have proof of vaccinations. THESE REQUIREMENTS ARE SET BY ORANGE COUNTY, IF YOU DON'T HAVE THEM, YOUR PET ISN'T COMING IN. THE ONLY PERSON THAT CAN MAKE AN EXCEPTION TO THAT IS WALT HIMSELF. CALL FIRST TO CONFIRM WHAT THE CURRENT REQUIREMENT ARE. THEY CAN CHANGE QUICKLY. If it isn't poisonous or illegal in CA, they can take it. If it isn't small enough to fit at the kennel, it might take a while, but the Kennel is now run by Circle D, the "ranch" which handles the horses, goats, etc theoretically will accommodate anything you can get to the main gate. On a DAY basis, not overnight. I personally know of baby goats, chickens, parrots and a duck named Pippen. But I don't have those particular challenges anymore.
