I just found out from Disney Security that they no longer offer their weapons lockers to CCW holders, only to LEOs.  I guess they changed the policy around the first of the year.  Just thought I would let everyone know so no one got stuck with a walk back to the car/hotel if they weren't aware of the new policy.

Kind of on topic, I was stopped entering California Adventure a few months ago because I had a knife in my pocket. Only the pocket clip was visible but they stopped me as soon as I walked through the gate. Had to go put it in my car before they would let me in. They actually escorted me through the bag check area too. Everyone was very nice about the situation, and even apologized for the inconvenience, but it was still pretty annoying.

I had this happen to me a few years ago walking up to the gate.  Older gentleman sitting on a bench like any inconspicuous Grandpa, stood up, showed me his credentials as Disney security and told me I had to leave to get rid of the knife.  I ended up just giving it to him because it was a cheap knife and I didn't want to walk back to the hotel.  I talked to the guy for a few minutes about his job and Disneyland in general.  Hell of a nice guy, gave me a few tips for the park.  I actually walked away from the experience feeling better about security there.

Not that I ever posted about it here, ahem, but going through a visual bag check, which ranges from pretty lax to pretty thorough, depending, while wearing a very visible clip knife is asking to get turned back.

And don't wait until you're in the line to decide to move it all the way in to your pocket.  Most of the security guys there are pretty sharp.  Some aren't, don't plan on running in to the klunks.

The only thing that they want employees to "advise" guests to not bring to the main gate are wagons or anything getting pulled.  Unless that wagon or basket is carrying medically necessary items, like O2 tanks, etc, it isn't going in.. Off-color shirts, revealing wear, etc, etc etc, turn backs are the job of security and main gate personnel, so it's unlikely anybody is going to warn you at the Park about clip knifes, you get told at the gate.  And don't argue about things, it isn't going to get you anywhere.  You might get a voucher for a stroller.

There is a Kennel at the Main Gate.  DOGS MUST HAVE VERIFICATION OF SHOTS FROM A VETERINARIAN.  They have (or had) a fax at the kennel, doesn't help if your Vet is closed.  In the past, at times, also had to have proof of vaccinations.  THESE REQUIREMENTS ARE SET BY ORANGE COUNTY, IF YOU DON'T HAVE THEM, YOUR PET ISN'T COMING IN.  THE ONLY PERSON THAT CAN MAKE AN EXCEPTION TO THAT IS WALT HIMSELF.  CALL FIRST TO CONFIRM WHAT THE CURRENT REQUIREMENT ARE. THEY CAN CHANGE QUICKLY.   If it isn't poisonous or illegal in CA, they can take it.  If it isn't small enough to fit at the kennel, it might take a while, but the Kennel is now run by Circle D, the "ranch" which handles the horses, goats, etc theoretically will accommodate anything you can get to the main gate.  On a DAY basis, not overnight.  I personally know of baby goats, chickens, parrots and a duck named Pippen.  But I don't have those particular challenges anymore.

oh say one that crudely advocates a certain type of sexual act normally performed on/to females on a male President, showing Disney Princesses in adult activities,  .. probably needed a hyphen

Since how Floriduh duhs things is often used for the Anaheim park to adjust things to, I would expect that as the possibility of non-leo ccw grows, we will see more guidance, maybe or maybe not tailored to CA laws, wrt CCW.  They really really don't like sign clutter, I would bet it will be a while before we see anything to open about the matater.  I would also bet the "policy" wasn't a written policy, but an accommodation made on the highly unlikely and probably very very rare occurrence of a CCW becoming known.

In reality, if a legal CCW is really concealed, the decision won't need to be made, or illegal CCW for that matter.  I think the way it will be handled will be on a case basis, for legal CCW, illegal will be shown the door at a minimum.  It's not a like a few years ago when toy guns were persona non grata at the stores, now they are almost all over the place. And bows and arrows, knifes, swords, blasters, etc.

I went to see my wife at Arrowhead hospital last year (she's an ICU nurse)

This is the only hospital I have ever been to that has metal detectors, and they wont let you in unless you have a reason to be there..

Not thinking (I'm an Es'stupid) I tossed everything from my pockets in the basket. The security guard stops me and says "Sir, this is why we have metal detectors" It was a pretty large single blade trapper..

I'm surprised the guard caught it, you could probably put a chrome .45 and they would wave you thru as long as you didn't trip the detector.

Also off topic...

I was a WDW several years ago and my cousin was stopped because security saw a metal clip on his shorts.  It was for a flashlight...
