According to both WCTV news and WTXL news in Tallahassee, Florida. The leading Republican contender for governor; Adam Putnam says he supports allowing guns on college campuses and letting residents carry guns out in the open.

For those that don't know. Adam Putnam  is currently serving as the Florida Agriculture Commissioner and is the head of the agency that issues Florida's Concealed Carry Weapon Permits.

Mr. Putnam said on Tuesday that there should be fewer "gun free zones" in the state. Florida legislators in recent years have considered several proposals to loosen gun restrictions, but the measures have stalled.

This is the first time a gubernatorial candidate in Florida has every openly stated support for Open Carry and Campus Carry. Florida's former governors like Charlie Crist and Jeb Bush never supported Campus Carry and Open Carry. Same with Florida's currently term limited Governor; Rick Scott.

This is especially hopeful news for Floridians since the State under Republican Party Control for the past twenty years have blocked Open Carry & Campus Carry in the recent years from reaching the governor's desk.

This past year it was Republican Senators Rene Garcia and Anitere Flores and in from 2016 to 2011 it was Senator Miguel Díaz de la Portilla (R), Representative Charles McBurney (R), Senator John Thrasher (R), and Senator Ellyn Setnor Bogdanoff (R).

None of Florida's three past Governor have openly shown any support for open Carry & Campus Carry

I follow him on Facebook, his support for our right to bear arms is not new and I believe
very genuine.

Rick Scott said he'd sign OC in 2011 if it made it to his desk.  I don't see Putnam getting the faggots in Tally to do any different than they have been.  Some of them need to go and then they'll get the message.

Skeletor said he signed it. He never openly supported it. Remember, GWB said he'd sign the Clinton AWB. So with Putnam openly supporting it.... kinda changes the game. There has never been open support for OC in FL.

He might be a great guy.  But, it is easy to say you are in support of something you know will never get to your desk for signature.

Well, that's where we the people fall in. Put pressure on him to keep his word and force the legislature to pass the damn thing.

Putnam isn't going to be putting in time after he's sworn in pushing for cc and oc.  It's campaign talk.  We're gonna have to primary some folks in the legislature to get anything done.

It's a shell game.  Just look at the R's in congress...they can pass a bill getting rid of Obamacare while O is the Pres because they know he won't ever sign it.  But, with Trump in they won't even bring that bill up for a vote.

Nothing against Putnum but he could tell the pro-gun folks he's for suppressors, full-auto, and a gun in every home but he knows some republican in Miami will keep all gun bills from seeing the light of day.  But, at least he came out publicly and supports guns.  He has to know the crazy libs will try to use that against him.

I have been following him on FB for a few years and he is much different than most
politicians, different for the better. Being in the Ag business exposes one to people of
all walks of life and exposes them to the evils of too much government regulation.
