Ive lived in winter haven for 8 years now and see them do that about 8x a year. Also the big coast gaurd plane does a turn over my house about 2x a year i guess when flying certain training flights.

You should have seen the flow flying C-130 doing circles by the Lakeland Airport.
Lots of military stuff goes to Avon Park. We also have that flight training company in the area. I've gotten strafed by their F-4's on 17 and 98.  |

The Polk County Sheriffs Department has a new all black helicopter that I have seen around Bartow some. One day the were doing some practice maneuvers right off of hwy 17 in a open field, I thought it was the Feds until I was telling a friend of mine about it and he said it was Grady Judds new helicopter. I don't know if that is what you saw or not, but it makes sense that would be what you saw. Military usually doesn't do to much around cities and towns.

I see them headed inland from MacDill fairly regularly, C130s too.
Sarasota got buzzed by supersonic jets recently. Reportedly broke windows and such. No idea what they are up to. |

I don't know for sure. What I can say, is that it looked like the picture I posted above, it flew LOW. I mean, *really* low over the houses. We were startled and ran out to see what was going on, definitely much lower than if a police search helicopter was out looking for someone.
I'm guessing either training exercises, or the ATF is tired of me trolling their FB page. lol

Special Operations are holding training at AP bombing range. All of Highlands County has been shaking from the big guns all week. Formations of Blackhawks are all over the place.

I commonly see blackhawks flying over Lakeland. See many government planes
as well. They seem to use the airport for training. I see the planes doing touch and go's sometimes. |

A few years ago a couple of AC130's were circling Highlands county, making gun runs at Avon Park. They were the talk of the town.
