Quoted: As Gov, Crist would have the media on his side and would likely push for mag limits and ending the Castle Doctrine. Even with a Rep majority in the state house enough of them may begin to cave if the pressure gets high enough once there is another questionable self defense shooting. Not worth the risk IMHO. How anyone could trust Crist at this point baffles me. Nobody likes career politicians and he is the poster child for that...willing to run in any party and for any position that will get him elected into any office. http://shark-tank.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/obama-crist-kiss-hug.jpg View Quote The issue is that I don't trust either of them. They are both scum.... our situation is a shit soup sandwich. I still might vote for Scott. My issue is with the State Government as a whole as a State Employee. They want to fuck over mh retirement.... a system that I have been paying into. A syste. That is stable and not a cluster fuck like California or New York. My want right now is to have the government become a lame duck and do nothing. The FL House and Senate will surely stay in GOP control. They won't do what Crist wants... and he won't do what they want. Thus it is a lame duck lock out. I can move to another state and make a shit ton more as a cop but I don't for a reason. It is because I love Florida... no matter how much I hate it I still love it. I want to best for this state and for me. My wife and I work hard for what we have and don't want it takwn away from us.

The TV news around here sure is trying their best to get everyone convinced Crist is their savior.

Christ reminds me of some kinda bi-sexual... He doesn't know who, or what, he wants to be... My vote is on Rick Scott.

And your basing yours on the ones paid for the right. I have no choice but to vote crist. Scott turned his back on firefighters, cops and teachers. So yeah I hope Scott loses. My hicaps won't put my son through college. That's what my paycheck that scott wants to make smaller is for. So crist is a fucking joke, but Scott can go fuck himself.

Ever think that Scott did what had to be done, because Charlie did what he did as Governor?
You sound like the old US autoworkers that didn't care if american made cars were costing too much as long as they made their money...not looking at the big picture that eventually many of them would end up making nothing because sales were plummeting. There are no guarantees in life my friend, and I'll bet that if you ask around you'll find several of us in the private sector that are making less now than we were 6, 8, or 10 years ago. This economy still sucks and Dems like Crist and Obama's only plan is to have more of us sucking from the Gov't tit, but eventually too many will be and fewer will be funding that (much like the US automakers). |

View Quote The issue is that Crist never did shit. He didn't give employees pay raises but he didn't fuck the the benefits or retirement. The Florida Retirement System is stable and in he black. It has been and it is projected to be in the black for many years to come. The FRS isn't going to be like the California system of IOUs. Right now the major issue is that the GOP wants to raid the FRS and use it for general funds. Scott isn't the main threat, it is the FL House and Senate which will stay in GOP control for a very long time due to the 2010 census and it's redistricting. Scott will approve of it since he is a GOP Governor. He won't say no to it. The GOP is waging a war on public employees in a very stupid way. Many of us are in favor of reform and smaller government. End the wasteful spending and stop the welfare program abuse. But simply cutting Public Employee pay and benefits isn't the right way to do. Right now the FL House and Senate are spending a shit ton of money to redo their offices again. They do this every year. It is a waste of funds. Right now FL has to many chiefs and not enough indians. Why not merge the majority of these agencies together and cut down on the command staff salaries and benefits? Right now FL is giving welfare benefits to Wiston (FSU Quarterback) while he has a full ride at FSU. Yes, they gave him an EBT card since he is an "unemployed student". Senator Trasher just signed a deal to be paid $430,000, have a paid for residence by the school, and cover car leases to be the FSU President and he has no experience what so ever as an educator or leading school of hire learning. I don't have the time to list the State wide issues FL is dacing with wasteful spending. But attacking public employees isn't part of it. We need reform from top to bottom across the state. If the state government simply locks itself into a lame duck session I'll be happy.

You all do realize that Scott was never charged by the Federal Government. He resigned in 1997, 6 months after the indictment becuase he wanted to fight the charges and the board wanted to settle. He plead the 5th in a civil deposition by some Nevada company out to get money, same thing 100% of you all would have been told to do by your lawyer if you were in a similar situation. Scott has done a decent job for Florida so far and I see no reason to pick a lunatic or a orange asshole to replace him.

And that was your choice to be a private sector worker. So your saying misery loves company basically. Because the last 10yrs hasn't gone the way you wanted, then it shouldn't for the people that keep you safe or teach your kids. I tell you what, if you're saying I should make private sector money with no retirement other than what I invest then I'll make that deal. But, what other rights/freedoms are you willing to give up to keep your pension? You already said mag limits are OK, how about "assault rifle" bans, CCW, suppressors? Charlie (and several other Dems) say they're okay with hunting rifles, but nobody needs a 1911 on their nightstand or a 9mm on their hip for protection since those aren't for "hunting". Who do you think Gov Crist and Morgan & Morgan will side with when the next black teen is shot by someone protecting themselves? We can agree to disagree, as most politicians are liars by nature. But one of them has stayed consistent while the other has taken every position on every issue and IMO cannot be trusted at all. |

And the underwater home is your fault. I agree that they should have kept their word but you tell me where they should have taken the cuts. The Governor did not make that cut himself. it was Congress that did it and he signed on it. Most of that same congress is still there and they did back up and give raises to the public worker and the raises were far better than the private sector is getting since the recession started. |

You are talking out of both sides of your mouth…. One side is saying the Republicans will not pass any anti gun legislation since they are pro gun…. All I read is a guy that is mad because he expects big government has not taken care of him… And you are willing to give away some of OUR 2nd Amendment rights as long as you get the PROMISE that big govt will take care of you in the future. |
