I will be heading to Ocala in Sept. for 2 weeks for work was just wondering on things to do in my free time in that area. Any suggestions would be great.

Zip lining surprisingly. I think Core15 is there. I went to school in Gainesville. Lots of springs. Also Ocala National Forest.

Their is a open shooting range in Ocala National forest. Deon Martin has a competitive shooting complex just south of Ocala. They do steel challenge, IDPA and USPSA http://www.centralfloridasection.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=100&Itemid=93

I'm a little south of Ocala in Marion Oaks (the north side of 484! I swear I'm not ghetto! ).

Speargun, would you be willing to host an Ocala area Arfcom meet and greet/shoot? I keep seeing posts from Ocala area Arfcommers, but I've never got the chance to meet any of you fine gentlemen.

I'm out in the forest & have a clay pit on 314-a.

I think a meet & greet is a great idea..... when it cools down another 20 degrees or so.

Love that area, Dad and I have camped in Salt Springs for years.

Thanks for the heads up on the Powerline Practical Shooter's Club. That range is only about 15 miles from my house by those directions. Sure beats the shit out of driving to Deland or Leesburg to shoot IDPA...

Hate to assist in the thread hijack, but Ocala is doable; especially if it's an overnight get together.

Hey now...I live on the south side of 484 (in an area that is not Marion Oaks but is considered Marion Oaks by the county for MSTU) and I'm not ghetto. Actually all the vacant houses in my neighborhood still have their air conditioners, which is better than most of the county is doing

Nice to see you, Mr. Travolta.

A co-worker is pretty close to the Travolta's so it wouldn't surprise me if he has already been to my range.

BTW, there are quite a few airstrips in the Ocala area...
