Tim, okay I have started the request process to use the range, gonna try for early May first and see how it goes, A Saturday only match and we will see how it goes, BUT I am not sure where you heard $20. for fees, we have been loosing money with $50 per shooter per day, and I don't see any way we can charge less than that, the 50 will be the fee for now and hopefully we can get enough shooters to pay all the fees, last years match I think we had 15 shooters and lost money. hopefully we can get 20-30 shooters and at least break even. I am not doing this to make money, just to promote a great match with facilities only the military or police can usually use.

The MRF range is great, computer controlled pop up targets at 50-300 yards and scored by the computer. Everyone always has a great time. But with that automation and the need for a provided range operator the fee is large from the base. I will let you and everyone know if and when I can get the range, I hope to see ya at Gateway Friday and will talk more, If I can help answer other questions just PM me and I will do my best, I have some help with medic and other range officers lined up so all I am waiting on is confirmation.

Keith- Thanks for the info! $50 is very reasonable and I would be willing to pay a little more. Maybe you could ask for donations if anyone feels like throwing in a little extra.

Where is the MRF range? (Couldn't find it on Google.)
If it's not too far from the West Side AND I can get my wife to get my balls out of the drawer for the day, I'm 75%.
I should be free in all of May, so it's just a matter of getting a weekend pass from the boss.

The range is one of the many at Camp Blanding, the Florida guard base near Starke. North Coast shooters is the sanctioning organization.

I haven't heard back on our dates yet, Camp Blanding has been a great base most of the time to shoot at, once in a while we have experienced
a hick up or two but overall I have been very impressed with the ranges at Camp Banding.

Will post back when we get confirmation of our requested date.

I Figure I am approx 90% in, as long as it stays $50 and on a weekend.
Hopefully the COF covered by the fee would at least last a few hours and a few hundred rds.

In for updates

Since its Army, is it the unknown 300m green meanies pop ups, I shot that one and another that was on a slope so you had to judge for slant down and up.

Yes, there are 8 pop ups per shooting lane, 2 at 50 yards, one at 300, the rest at regular intervals in between 100 to 300 yards, I can't remember the exact layout
but if I can find some pic's of Last match's I will come back with them, anyway, 8 pop ups and we shoot the army qualification course of fire for warm up's/practice.
Then we will shoot the record/match program Nick Mullet designed, really challenging, you have 1,2,3,4 and twice 5 targets up at a time, and if memory serves you
have 5 seconds to shoot em down. I think there are 20 evolutions of 1-5 targets then a pause of 15-30 seconds for reload then the last 20, this is only memory and
I am getting older so that is not so good. But we always have a great time, its fast and furious when your shooting this range, FUN.

And anyway after we shoot the record match we usually bring out the pistols and walk up to the next burn and shoot at 25 and 75 yard guys for a neat pistol
match, after that my intention is to open the range to open fire at the pop ups probably on the army qualification course and Nicks course for the remainder of the
afternoon or till every one runs out of ammo, past practice has been we usually start around 8 and finish up by 2, but I want to go to 3-4 or so this time as it will be a
one day match not three days as in past. But after the match is complete you can depart if needed, I would just need a contact for your plaque or trophy if needed.

Still waiting on the word from the base, but we have some time, will let you all know when I get the word.
