Update: relevant information regarding Elpidio has been forwarded to local law enforcement in San Antonio, TX. A mail fraud complaint will still be filed at the Federal level this week.

Actually I looked up his address and you will have to contact Bexar County Sheriffs department as he lives in the County Jurisdiction.

I'm one of the guys that got ripped off, and am just checking back to see if there were any updates. After all the initial excitement I got distracted by a lot of other things, but I guess this unfortunately hasn't really gone anywhere? Unfortunately crime pays a lot of the time.

Of course it makes sense. 99% of the mail fraud cases I read about here and on other boards don't result in arrest or restitution of any kind. |

I was in SWA for over two years and these often wound up in the trash because of simlpe battery corrosion or other minor defect. They were being handled by third world low wage workers and I am still trying to get the Army to understand the liability we have in letting an item like this be lost in the inventory. I saw many more sensitive items as well that I think in the long run turned my hair grey trying to get it all back under proper accountability. If he was or is in the Army he may have picked them up in the trash and cleaned them up and brought them home. That is not acceptable but I almost know it has happened especially to commercially available items like this.
I found complete rifles and night sites out in the unsorted junk that was discarded and made daily trips to the arms rooms repair facility to turn in anything I found. Makes me sick to think some guy is ripping you off and keeping the items from being in the fight against the bad guys espcially since I may be headed back again before I retire. Hope you get this straightened out. |

I'm out $650 for an ACOG I never received. I hope this guy spends some time in Federal Prison over this, but don't expect to ever get back my money. Still saving for an ACOG. What I should have had last July, I probably won't be able to get until next Fall. TexMex I hope you're keeping up with this thread and realize the effect of your thievery. You need to get some help. When I was a State prosecutor years ago thieves like you usually stole in order to support a drug habit. God help you.

I already contacted Army CID in San Antonio. They checked their records and told me he was not active duty. But, I don't know if their database included the National Guard and/or Reserves.
There's not a lot I can do if he's not subject to the UCMJ. Lee |

Wow, I just read all of these posts and from someone (a VERY careful someone) who heavily purchases online, this guy would have also got me if I wanted this product...
I hope you guys get your funds back... I know AMEX is good with this type of stuff. I had a similar incident with an online purchase. I called AMEX, they refunded the credit immediately (pending the case), opened a case and eventually closed it. Nail this POS! |

I worked a deal with him a couple years back, he IS National Guard or reserve, louisiana if I remeber correctly. I sold him an optic for deployment. Looks like USGI property to me, anyone get a pic of the complete kit? Was it an M68 CCO kit? Sorry to see an EOD brother get screwed in this deal.
Good luck guys. |

Even if he is reserve/guard, I'd have to prove he was on title 10 orders when the offense took place. Otherwise he is not subject to the UCMJ.
I'll be home in 45 days and will be in San Antonio for a stint in June. I plan to stop by the PD/SO and speak to a detective personally. It usually helps to see someone in person rather than trying to get things done by phone. Elipidio, You still owe me an aimpoint or my $350, brother. I'm not letting this go. |

Dear God, folks! If it sounds too good to be true, it IS too good to be true. Stop being gullible cheap-asses and buy one from a reputable vendor that is listed in the Industry Forum of AR-15.com. I have NEVER been disappointed with Denny's, Brownell's, SWFA, CDNN just to name a few.

The EE is full of reputable members selling their property. As this gentleman had positive feedback, wouldn't it seem reasonable to purchase a piece of equipment for a better price than Dennys or Brownell or a "reputable vendor?" Do business with whomever you want, just don't give someone who chooses to do it differently than you a hard time. Besides, this thread is half a year old and the victims of this guy have learned a hard lesson. Please don't rub it in. Mikey |

I absolutely wouldn't let it go either. Getting ripped off by some run-of-the-mill con is something that wouldn't be extremely hard to deal with. But to see some POS in uniform that seemed to be "one of us" makes it much harder to deal with.
As stated in some of the previous posts. This crowd isn't exactly easy pickins for BG's. He'll get what he's got coming. |

Any updates ?
After reading this "Rip Off" thread and thedoctors308 thread I can honestly say I may never buy another thing off of the EE I have noticed a trend, People get ripped off, same people scream about internet fraud and charges WILL be filed & the POS will be prosecuted and serve time. In reality it seems that NO LEO agency or office gives a rats ass and the only thing that ever happens is the POS thief pockets the money and continues his thievery under a new account or on other forums and nothing ever happens to these POS thieves Good Luck to everyone and I hope by the grace of God that someone "STOPS" this idiot from getting one more cent from honest people |

Since he was a Team Member (Bronze Contributor), I'm assuming all credit card details, home/billing address, etc, have been forwarded on to *someone* in LE?
I think GoatBoy allows a Money Order (instead of credit card), but most people end up going the CC route, is my understanding. |
