THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Earlier this week we locked an account for ad stomping on the Equipment Exchange. It turns out to Department of Homeland Security agents have been contacting people on the Equipment Exchange and demanding that they turn over certain equipment to them, mainly lasers.
They are using account names DHS_HSI and DHSHSI They claim to be Patrick Manson and Yilin Wu. Agent Wu has stated that he considers any of these equipment to be stolen and in addition he claims that even if one is legally possessed he has some other method of seizing them. He has also threatened to prosecute anyone who lies to them about possessing these devices. Obviously I am going to end the sale of these devices. The e mail i received from Manson is below
Long story short yes, I contacted multiple users in regards to the sale of stolen government property. These messages would reference the following products as applicable per each user: Glare MOUTs IZLID 100P IZLID 200P IZLID 1000P IZLID Ultra GDB-IIIC Insight PEQ-15 Insight PEQ-14 PEQ-2 Atilla 200 These devices can be sold only to DoD and in rare cases law enforcement agencies via direct sales only. They CANNOT be sold to civilians nor can they be sent to surplus by the aforementioned entities. They must be destroyed when they are no longer being used. Therefore if these devices are in the "wild" they are most likely lost or stolen. Either way they are still property of the Government entity that purchased them.
