Yes the spacer can be removed. It does not come with the shorter screws but they can be found at a decent hardware store or you can cut down the supplied screws.

Ok –– just when I was sure my wife was going to get me the M3 clone (she doesn't know that she's getting it for me yet, hehe,) you go and post this –– and there's no way I could get away with ordering both!

How does the total viewable tube diameter compare to the M3? It looks slightly narrower.

Ninja Edit: Can you possibly take side-by-side photos of the M3 and M4 clones? Thanks!!

Absolute truth!! I ordered on Monday, got mine today, AND we are snowed in! I think Marsh1 must be in the good graces of the USPS gods... VERY well packaged as well! The unit looks sturdy, and the glass is clear. Great optic for the $$! I have yet to mount or shoot it, but will update with pics as soon as I get home (may be two days here...I am stuck at work because of snow!). Thanks again for a great deal!

Paypal sent for one of these.

Forgot to ask before, but is the spacer in the mount removable? I'm putting this one on the GSG and I want it mounted as low as possible.

Guys, if you're considering any of Marsh's stuff, it's a hell of a deal. I'm impressed enough with the M3 I got from him less than a month ago to order an M4 and move the M3 to the 12 ga. The only Aimpoint clones I've seen this good came from Aimpoint... and aren't clones

Got mine today - looks great, feels solid, I love the different reticles. I think I'm gonna love this optic, even though it is just for my "practice" carbine.

Four thumbs up for this optic and this vendor!

This is, of course, not the final destination for the M4, but thought it was funny as I had these out at the time anyways.

If anyone's interested, the bolts for the shorter setup are M5-.80 by 8mm-10mm long OR 10-32 x1/4" long. I had to look for a while to get ones that fit into the bottom hole flush - found some SS button head allen 10-32 that did the trick.

Ordered last weekend. It mailed Mon, got it Wed (in time for Xmas!) - great fast shipping.
Optic feels really high quality, reticles are bright and adjust noticeably. Nothing rattles or moves when it shouldn't, selectors have a positive click feel.
I can;t wait to get out tomorrow and zero it in, I'm confident it'll prove reliable on my AR.
Thanks again Marsh and Merry Christmas!

Couldn't get any of the right screw, but I wound up with 100 10-32x1/4 SHCS that works good enough. I'll order the right thing shortly.

I asked the folks at Fastenal if they had the 5mm socket head cap screws in 8mm long and they said they do have them. Off the shelf they are a 1mm thread pitch though and I'm not sure what pitch you need. Boxes of 100 are the smallest they have if that's the right size. She said they may be able to special order other thread pitches as well.

Let me ask the factory what the thread pitch is unless someone has figured it out already.

Sounds like I should buy a couple of boxes and offer the shorter screws as a option.

Thanks

Thread pitch is standard 10-32 or M5-.80. The head hole is somewhat shallow though, so that was my biggest challenge in finding bolts. Once again, the button head STAINLESS had a smaller head on it (stronger metal maybe?) and fit in the rail adapterr.

I went to Fastenall to get the bolts I did wind up with. Nothing on the shelf that would work, but I can order the right ones. If I remember right they're about $15/100. 5mm-.8 x 6mm low socket head capscrews.

I need to get pics of the M4 on my GSG and M3 on the shotgun, but I'm feeling a bit lazy tonight. Haven't had a chance to shoot anything since I did the optic rearranging, but hopefully I can take a pile of guns to the shop this week and burn some ammo. The only thing I need to change is the comb height on the shotgun. It's just plain too low with the M3/low mount. Need an extra inch of comb for the weld I like. I screwed around with it pointing at things of various sizes at various distances and acquisition is MUCH faster than with a standard shotty bead. "Perfect" would be a ring reticle that's calibrated to the size of the shot pattern by moving the sight fore and aft until it lines up.

If anyone's still on the fence, hop off and order one. I've never met Marsh and have nothing to gain, I'm just a satisfied customer that's used a great many red dots over the years on a bunch of different guns. The only thing I can't attest to is durability because I've only put a few hundred rounds through the GSG, but I suspect it won't be an issue until I do something stupid.
