I don't have one handy but you would need a riser. If someone can measure the height of the irons on a Storm we can figure it out.

Without a riser it is a little too low to co-witness. You could fold down the iron sights and use the dot but you can't use it with the irons up.

I tried a Yankee Hill riser for an Eotech that I had lying around and it works pretty well. So well that I think I'll leave it. It raises the sight .3 inch and lets me see the dot over the iron sights, or I can drop my head and use the irons thru the bottom part of the scope. I tried to take a picture thru the scope but I just couldn't get a good one.

I just saw you have the website up, and I just placed my order for a micro dot. I'd been waiting a while and should have followed this thread more closely, anyhow I can't wait to try this out. I'm going to be using it on a FAL so hopefully recoil won;t be an issue. Thanks and I'll post a full report when I get it in and try it out.

Marsh1, Thanks for the point in the right direction. I found the YHM 1.3 inch .5 inch riser.

Anyone have suggestions on a quick disconnect riser? Don't want to spend a mint. Thanks!

I just ordered two of these off the website link, so i am in.

Marsh1,
Just a question, how many of these have arfcommers killed/exchanged and what was the cause.

I got a couple guys I know, aimpoint purists doubting. Hoping these will live on an ultimak as good as an Eotech.

Anybody got any torture stories?

I open and check each one before shipping. I have had a couple that were DOA and three or four got returned for exchange. I have sold hundreds of them. It is a quality product.

I have been running my original demo for some time. All my testing was done on .308s and .50Beowulf. I am currently running it on a FAL .308. That same one has been put in a freezer to test cold weather operation and heated where the base was too hot to touch in a frying to see if it can handle the heat of a AK mount. It is still going strong.

I know many people are now using them on shotguns. One a 44 magnum handgun.

I ordered early in the week and got mine yesterday

Mounted it to my handle mount on my 9mm AR15 and will hopefully get out this weekend for sight in

Great service, and may even consider putting one on my Mossberg 500 or Ruger 10-22

Ordered Thursday, received today. Thanks Marshall. The product is better than I expected. The rheostat is a little stiff but I'm sure it will loosen up over time. Thanks again and feedback left in the EE Positive feedback section.

Seems very solid and almost heavy for such a compact optic.

Any feedback on this thread in the main optics forum would be welcome. My goal is to always exceed expectations with Primary Arms branded products. Sourcing these took a lot of effort and I am very proud the Micro Dot. The more volume I do with my main factory the more customizing they will do for me. Maybe someday a Micro Dot with a removable base and riser.

Just got back from the range and got the Micro Dot sighted in (finally....having it at a 45 degree angle complicates things). Even for a ho-hum shooter like me I was able to put 5 shots inside 1.5" at 50 yards consistently. And it held zero through hundreds of rounds, using it and my 2.5-10x scope for 100 yard shots. Very pleased with this little sight. I can't see any need for anything more $ if you're not staking your life on your rifle...and even then, if I get off the first shot, it ain't my blood that will be wiped up.

Bravo Marshall and Primary Arms!

AR-15...I have it on a 45 degree Guntec mount which is attached to the picatinny rail on my scope rings. I have it on the left side of the gun as it suits me better than what is normally seen for a red dot sight/scope combination. That way I don't have to rotate the weapon to use it. I just raise my head slightly and open both eyes. I'll try to get a pic up tomorrow evening.

Ordered two through the website, one for the shorty 5.56. and one for the shorty 9mm upper.

ETA:

I recieved my order today and these seem to ba a nice little optic.

I found a noname riser in the parts bin and used that on the 9mm upper. This upper is an optics only setup and seems to work great, despite the cheesy looking riser. If it works well I will buy a decent mount later.

For the 5.56 upper I threw an ARMS #38-EX swan sleeve on and I can get a upper 1/3 cowitness. cant wait to get them both out and get zeroed.

The micro dot seems built well and feels very stout.
I wish my lawn was EMO so it could just cut itself.

Anyone find a one inch riser that doesn't cover the whole upper rail, something just the length of the micro dot? If so can you post a name or link? Thanks

I'm thinking you could try this ARMS mount

with this spacer

to get it to cowitness with your irons.
Or course, thats a $95 mount. If QD isn't a priority for you, just use two YHM 1/2" risers

Got mine and I got to say, I'm pleased. Great little optic for the price. I've tried the NCStar stuff before and it's absolute junk. This sucker's got some heft to it. Dials are firm to turn and, most importantly, the dot if nice and bright.

I've got a VEPR AK with the Ultimak rail over the gas tube like the pic in the post above on this page, and it darn near co-references the iron sights. It's too low for me, though. My natural point of aim is a little above the irons. The iron sights also obscure the lower 1/4 or 1/3 of the optic. So now I need to slog through the other pages looking for the reference I remember about a riser to mount it on. Thought I remember one being mentioned. A 1/2 inch riser would be nice. Oh, scratch that. Went back and found it. YHM mount will do just fine. Just ordered it and you can't beat the price of $17.

Thanks again. When I eventually get the Ultimak rail over the gas tube of my Saiga 12 I'm going to get one of these optics for it, also.

Hi everyone. I need your help. This thread will go away when optics gets moved to the new EE. The new EE will not allow ongoing threads so we will lose the pics and info so I have started a thread in my industry forum for pics and comments. Please post pics and comments there for future buyer to reference.

Thanks
Marshall

Won't work. The micro requires a Weaver or Pic rail.

If anyone missed out, I'll have one on the EE on Monday along with a Daniel Defense offset mount.

It was mounted but never used.

I just don't have the time to get the pics done until then.
