I bought this rifle a couple months back... need to sell to fund a new project. The previous owners ad is this..."This auction is for a little diferent type of M1A supermatch than most. This rifle, although it is pre-ban equipped, is a post ban standard built in '92. In '95 the owner then sent it to Springfield Armory for a "phase 2 supermatch conversion". This is what Springfield Armory told me when I called them. As there is a privacy issue, since I am not the person that had the work done, I cannot get documentation of this, but you can call Springfield Armory customer service and verify this fact for yourself. The custom shop equipped this rifle with the supermatch barrel, all of the usual supermatch components as well as the heavy target stock and a bayo lug. The heavy target stock is naturally glass bedded as with all supermatch rifles. My thoughts are that a custom shop supermatch weapon would receive a little more attention to detail than the usual supermatch build. This rifle is in like new condition all over. Round count since conversion appears to be very, very low. This is a rare opportunity to have a true custom shop super match M1A. The no reserve starting bid and the buy it now are very reasonable considering the prices of currently built super match rifles. Don't miss this one.Ships to FFL in states where legal. Insured shipping is $45.00. E-mail questions." I did call SA and they verified that this weapon was sent in by original owner and was updated. This is a very clean weapon and I have not shot it. It is immaculate.
