It is enforced. The mods can't catch them all.

As if your jobs aren't hard enough as it is. Besides some guys wont check their ad unless they get a subscription email notification of a response posted |

Some of those "IM sent" posts may be because the respondent is definitely buying the item in question and is posting in the thread so that they may leave feedback upon completion of the transaction. The new feedback system requires the buyer to post in the ad, unlike the previous system that was in place when Rule #18 was established.

If they are definitely buying the item then they should post an "ill take it" to show all it has been spoken for not an "IM sent" or "ill take it pending questions" or "email sent" |

Some of you guys are reporting ads with someone posts an "I'll take it". Get's kinda old taking reports for something that we told people to do, so they can post for feedback. Coup_de_Foudre-You got a real hard one for rule #18..for such a new member.. |

Here is the bottom line, these violations are so numorous that we all could work 20 hrs a day and never get all of them. I usually edit a warning in the post but sometimes there isn't enough time so I also place a warning on their account which membership cannot see. Reporting these violations will not solve the problem, only education will do that and a great many of our membership is highly resistant to education. I would estimate that on about 40% of the warnings I give for # 18 the member IM's or email's me with lots of excuses as to why they posted in the ad.

And you have a real "hard one" for calling members newbies in a thread started to ask a question. Funny that you point out I know my way around the exchange, yet still need to be labelled a newbie...seems almost contradictory.

The fact remains you are on a tear about rule #18. You are reporting some ads that are not violations of #18. Just trying to figure out why. |

Please explain what a retread is and why it justifies calling me a newbie repeatedly. ETA: Nevermind, I found the definition. I'm done with this conversation, as it's become one sided if you're going to continue to make penile references and repeatedly call me names (retread, newbie). My point still stands, continuing to call me a retread or anything else doesn't contradict the baseless nature of your insults. |

Sorry if I hurt your feelings. It just strikes me as odd for a new member to take such an aggressive stand for one EE rule. I'm just trying to point out that alot of the ads reported for #18, are for posts that a member makes for feedback, which he has to, in order to leave feedback. |

Coup_de_Foudre, while you are well versed on EE Rule 18, you apparently did not bother to read EE Rule 13.

Apparently following easy to understand rules is not your strong suit. But reporting ads for violations that are not there is something you got down pat. |
