Cadex Folding Grip

The Cadex Fold-Away Vertical Foregrip is a multi-application piece of furniture for your long gun. Cadex is a major supplier to the Canadian Military and has recently started to outfit elite units within USSOCOM with their revolutionary folding grip. The idea behind this kit is to allow the operator the freedom and flexibility to employ his weapon in different roles and positions without fighting his gear. When a vertical grip is needed during a dynamic situation or movement, the grip can be extended. But, if you find yourself suddenly in a static position or behind a barricade, the grip can be folded up to a horizontal position with the push of a button. The Cadex Folding Grip is molded from high-impact polymer and really stands up to a beating. The grip hollow features a twist-out tray that securely holds two CR123 Lithium Batteries under tension. The tray has an internal stop that retains it, keeping it from being lost in the field.

I ran the grip on my PWS/LMT piston upper running Diemaco C8A2 barrel. The grip performs extremely well. The folding mechanism is both will made and very durable. Myself and one MARSOC operator took the rifle with the grip and ran through the o-course with the intend to destroy the folding mechanism without any success. The grip definitely held up to some beating. The contour of the grip took a little to get use to, it was not your normal round tube configuration, so it is suited for those that grip the grip with all of the finger on the grip, but for those of us that grip with the thumb against the rail, part of the palm wrapped against the grip/rail area and the index finger running along the rail itself, the contour did not felt as comfortable to me. But shooter that ran the grip like grabbing a bat felt the added contour was a plus. The locking mechanism is much like the Dieter CQB, a single locking nut keep it from moving and within the grip a recoil lug are molded into the grip itself to keep it from moving. This is great for those muzzle strikes which we did a couple of very heavy strike against a wooden post. the grip lock solid after repeated strikes. This is not like the other grip which can be quick release, since it will require a tool for assembly and disassembly. Overall, I always feel once the grip is on the gun it should stay there. And if you need the grip out of the way for any prone/sandbag style shooting, the grip fold along the rail easily. It’s also a real joy to finally have a vertical grip fit nicely into a rifle case. The captured cap with CR123 battery storage is a nice touch, but the ability to only accept CR123 is a drawback. Since most of the electronic units are going over to the CR123, it shouldn't be too big of a deal. Besides, AA batteries or a spare bolt can be store inside the pistol grip via the TangoDown Battlegrip or a Magpul MIAD I like the grip and I find the grip to be well priced for the market, it is a good alternative to anyone requiring a fold away grip. At least the Canadian forces felt strongly enough to make this an issue item. I will upload some detail pics in the next few days.

Just got my DD Omega rail and put the two on my Bushmaster and boy do I like the feel. Great solid feeling grip and no looseness at all. Simple to mount, nice tight fit and easy to move. The folding is easy with the button lock and I am not gonna drop it on purpose but my guess is, that it would take a beating with a hammer or large rock to do any damage to it at all.
