You find it offensive because someone finnally tried to put some pressure on you to return the rifle.

You need to stay out of this thread or you will find yourself restricted in the EE.

Your posts are doing NOTHING to help Crowboy resolve this issue.

Why was there only one post by a mod in this thread for 15 days and it was only a question mark. Then once the members not the mods started putting pressure on faon we were called off. Why???? But we see multiple post in welch threads. Where is the warning to faon for his personal attack? Something stinks on this one.

YOU ARE NOT HELPING THIS.

Attacking the member involved in this will do nothing to resolve the issue.

If you continue to post in this thread, you will get locked out of the EE.

You want that? Then keep posting.

This is just a shame.

I have my own suspicions, but there's not enough hard evidence to reach an objective conclusion.

Ocala, this is just a bad deal for you all around.

Faon, if you're being truthful, your FFL needs a swift kick in the crotch.

Received this email from Faon18 this morning, posting here to keep things public for posterity.

do you honestly think i lied about receiving it in peices this whole time? anyways ive tried to be civil and a nice guy like i was going to say forget the shipping charges but after these acusations i would like to be cominsated the shipping charges were 42.10 do you still have my address to mail a check or mo?

I am still prepared to refund the shipping charges as I agreed to do, however I would like to see receipts first.

As another poster said, I'm glad that we're able to follow threads like these as it gives me a pretty good depiction of who I would and wouldn't like to do business with.

It seems pretty cut and dry to me who the bigger man is here; Sorry for your luck in this transaction, Ocala.

Wow, after all that and he wants to be reimbursed for shipping? There's no way the damage described and in the pics happened in shipping. Anyone with common mechanical or firearm knowledge would know that. If Faon didn't do it, then the FFL did, full stop. Post the FFL here so we know who not to deal with.

the only reason you would break down a rifle to ship is to use a smaller box.

faon, was the box big enough to hold the rifle fully assembled?

also when you say it arrived in two peices do you mean you walked into your ffl and he handed you a stock and an action and said " thats how it showed up"

and as a PSA to everyone, if something has those 2 prong security screws, that means you are not supposed to take it apart. even with the correct tool (yes there is a tool for those) it still means "gunsmith only"

Sure I want shipping charges back, it seems anything I've done is turned on me anyways so I may as well, if I said hey Steve forget the shipping the best thing you know someone will jump down my throat that I don't want shipping because I damaged it, I emailed him within 2 hours of receiving the rifle that it was in 2 peices

how did your ffl hand you the rifle? was it 2 seperate things or the stock loosly attached or what.

and was the box only large enough to hold the two peices or would it hold a complete rifle?

I'm now thinkning this as well. Could a good drop of the rifle cause the damage that was caused? Perhaps the FFL dropped it at some point when they opened the box and tried to fix their mistake.

Every time I've received a weapon my FFL kept it in the box it was shipped in for me to see. Seems fishy that he would hand you two parts to a weapon and no box considering there could have been screws or springs floating around in it.

My dealer's the same way and only the purchasing person has the authority to open his package. The deal was poorly handled and this should be a lesson for others to follow in future deals. Although I personally haven't done it here on this site, I have done it on my sales on eBay, were I photograph the item on either a cell clock or atomic clock (for accuracy and proof) showing the item's condition prior to shipment. Faon, you should have taken more time to review the item while you were at your dealers doing the transfer (it was your responsibility). This was a major error on your part and this greatly questions your credibility. Never trust anyone's word, especially a stranger on a site no matter how great his feedback is. Always ensure your ass is covered no matter what the circumstances are, if not be prepared to suffer the consequences for your own negligence. I think your fortunate that the staff and mods lean more towards the buyer, but I hope this is a valuable lesson for both parties and others to learn from.

The more I read about this situation the more I'm thinking Faon18's FFL took the rifle apart before he received it but there is no way anyone here is going to be able to know 100% for sure what really happened.

Me and Faon18 have traded several IM's over the coarse of this deal. I knew of his "scheduling" problem and while he did take extra time to return the rifle he did act quickly when I IM'd and asked him to please take care of this asap no matter what it took to do so. He also told me he would not pursue the shipping and FFL fees long before the shitstorm started in this thread.

I personally think two good/honest members got caught up in a really bad situation perpetrated by a third party, but again that's just my opinion I have to proof.

I'm locking this back down again to prevent anymore name calling, butthurt and or mud slinging. If either of you need anything or want to post updates please IM me.

I took the gun to the range today and it fires beautifully. Here's a video.

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v452/stevedz313/?action=view&current=IMG_1166.mp4

From what it sounds like, I'm willing to give Faon18 the benefit of the doubt and say it was probably his FFL who messed with the gun. I shipped it in a large box inside a soft rifle case, not broken down in a smaller box to ship. I find it suspicious that the FFL can't provide the original shipping box. If it were me I'd find a new FFL pronto.

I appreciate the offer re: the shipping fees. I think at this point I'd like to agree that neither of us leave feedback for the other, and we can walk away and leave everything as it is. Whatever happened was unfortunate but it's done now and luckily I was able to get the rifle put back like it should be and it's still in good working order so no FedEx claim needs to be pursued.

This thread sort of exploded when I went to work and I apologize for everyone intruding when the mods specifically said not to. Anyways, all is more or less resolved and I'm happy to walk away if Faon18 is.

Neutral's would be perfect for this situation. Not because I feel either party warrants one, but it would make it much easier and quicker for other members to have access to look at this thread without searching and risking not seeing it. Much easier to check a persons feedback than to search the forums.

Just for the record, there is no doubt the FFL is at fault here.
