Lots of great HK pics in that thread, okay if I start a clone pic thread?

New PTR GI R from Atlantic, about to add heavy buffer, scope and rings and such. Already added the bayo adapter from RTG and picked up an HK 33 bayo for it. Will post detailed pics/review and some range reports as soon as the %$#@ snow melts enough so I can shoot.

Never mind.  I tried to post a picture here, just like I can on every other forum I am a member of and it refuses to show up.

So a mod would look at it and then let it post.....or they will only post as links until 50?

Paint is my guess. Looks like OP was painting a wall or something and laying that sheet to prevent drippage. The dirt on the cloth made me think it had been stepped on without concern. Was
I right OP? Did I win?

OK lets try this again then

Heavy enough for ya?

While I understand it might frighten the AR15 crowd (who think 5.56 is a high powered round), it's a battle rifle in .308 which isn't supposed to be lightweight.  I simply pull up my big boy pants and deal with it.

Sorry wasn't trying to mock you I was just making a joke. I actually like the weight helps to absorb the recoil.

The scope sits high enough that while I still have some stock weld, I feel like I could use a pad on the buttstock but it's not high enough for the normal HK pad to work (tried it).   I think I will eventually look for some lower rings.

My apologies to you then and I don't find it to be all that heavy..

Though from the continual complaints I would read on CalGuns about how heavy their AR10s are and how stout the .308 recoil is my comment is still probably applicable to others.

Yep, drop cloth, not actually dirt on there just different paint colors. Seems to make the rifle stand out better in pics.

I thought the red was supposed to represent the blood these rifles have made the enemy shed.  LOL

Very nice!

Picked up some of the CETME steel mags from J&G and they are in great shape, cheap too if you buy a few.

PTR GI in wood, used a Cetme handguard and an HK stock and black PG, the furniture has gotten hard to find and stupid expensive, I got this mixed set in decent condition for 65 bucks from Northridge, and a NOS HK leather sling from RTG. Little sanding, little stain, few coats of BLO.
